Excellent motivational book. It's an easy read - took about three days to read. Once I got started, it was hard to put it down. Vernice's personal story actually absorbs you into wanting to read more. She provided some truly inspirational words of wisdom, and shared her experiences of challenges as a Marine Corps combat pilot - and being the first African American woman to achieve this role, as well as her 'seven step' plan on identifying and accomplishing goals. A great book for teachers, ministers, and those who are mentors helping others. Worth reading!

I saw Vernice give a rousing session at a conference this past April and afterwards I just had to have her book. My friend and I were the last two on line for an autograph just before her staff ended the session. Fortunately, Vernice saw us and waved us over. I really enjoyed the book!

Couldn’t finish this book. I’ve seen her speak in person and she’s very warm and engaging. But this book was so terribly disjointed I couldn’t get through 50 pages.

Cleared...hot?

The book provides some useful strategies yet nothing new. If you are into self-help then expect to see all similar strategies as in other books.

Made to have something for everyone so parts of it won’t apply to you, but a couple of the sections are what you need to hear. How many breakthroughs do you need? Even if just one section works for you then it was worth reading.

Vernice codifies many of the traits that lead to success in this easily read book. When I look back at big moments in my own life I realize that many of her lessons are insightful. My failures often came at time I wasn't following her advice.

I'm always a sucker for any book written by a fellow Marine Aviator. Vernice nails it in this helpful book.
