I read some of this for my local romance reader’s book group. We chose it because the premise sounded like a lot of fun in the write up we read during our last meeting. The execution of that premise, however, was much less enjoyable than the glowing review it received in Romantic Times.
Alyssa’s best friend Mindy is getting married but Mindy doesn’t trust her husband-to-be to remain faithful during his bachelor party (her previous fiancé cheated on her during his bachelor party) and asks Alyssa to infiltrate the party disguised as a stripper. Alyssa’s a dancer and knows how to shake her thing apparently. During the party Alyssa drinks some booze laced punch and lets loose. Cooper, the best man and a straight-laced type, removes Alyssa from the party when she throws her bra in his face and lets her sleep it off in his den. When she awakens she decides to have a wild a night of sex with Cooper, throwing her virginity and all common sense to the wind . . .
Cooper is smitten with the smart-mouthed stripper who has just given him the best sex of his life and intends to get to know her a whole lot better but it seems she’s run away. He meets her again, of course, at the wedding the next day and recognizes her even though she no longer wears a black wig, stripper makeup and is acting all shy and innocent. But before he can have at her again she’s on the run back home to San Francisco . . .
The setup is cute (if you can suspend your disbelief enough to have some fun with it) but from here little things began to drive me over the edge.
Alyssa is nauseatingly over-the-top sweet. She meets a kid on a plane who whines that she wants a pony for Christmas and doesn’t believe in Santa because he refuses to deliver her one. When Alyssa learns from the mom that she’s struggling to make ends meet Alyssa (whose family is loaded) agrees to buy her one so she’ll continue to believe in magic. Seriously?! She dotes on her grandfather which I have to admit is kind of sweet but we're supposed to believe she has remained a virgin at 24 and then threw it away to have sex with a stranger? This girl is described as a gorgeous, wild, free-spirit but has never seen a man’s anatomy up close? Sorry, I’m not buying any of it.
Anyway, Cooper is so desperate to have a repeat of the “greatest sex in his life” that he nearly becomes all stalker-like. He interrogates the other strippers until they reveal private info. that leads him to Alyssa. He then boards a plane and follows her to San Francisco, leaving his important business in the hands of his partner. When he locates her, he spies on her while she dances at her place of business.
And this is where I called it quits.

Alyssa and Cooper were a very cute couple, the story started as Alyssa helping her best friend check on her fiance, she went to the party and ended up meeting her future lover, they connected instanly and Alyssa was scared and so she ran away back to home, Cooper determined followed her and they learned so much about eachother and fell in love, all the animals that Cooper had to deal with were real cute, and it was a fun and witty book!

Good read
This book started so seductive but as it progressed it turned out to be completely sweet, funny, adorable , and almost had a child like spirit to well almost. It made me laugh was a total feel good book to read wish more books were so light hearted like this one. Highly recommended

Kitaptaki hayvanları asıl karakterlerden daha etkili buldum yaa :)) Şaka bir yana güzeldi kitap, basit bir konusu olsada beğendim bende :))

I didn't like the characters or the story at all; which was disappointing because the first in this series was pretty good. This story was just so ridiculous - a 24 yr old virgin agrees to act as a stripper for her friend then has a one night stand with the best man.....seriously?!?!? It was not only stupid but instantly made me dislike Alyssa intensely. Then to find out that Alyssa is part of San Francisco society was absurd. Having Cooper drop his entire life for this one night stand and go across country to court her was insane; he spent a fortune on this girl he barely knew. And then the stupidity continued with his decision to move himself and his business to CA without any discussion with his partner or workers or evaluating tax consequences, etc. He abandons his entire life in Chicago, including his family. The stupidity just continued throughout the book and made it just an awful read. I wouldn't recommend the book to anyone.

Exquisitely comical
Even though Alyssa and Cooper were a perfect match, they had a time finding the best balance to be together. The animal menagerie was sweet, it was also very funny.
A very well told funny love story with sadness and heartbreak of a troubled child who had to realize she had value as an adult.

Bu kitap ile ilgili, ne diyebilirim..Çok sevimli,güzel bir romantik komedi ide..Bayıldım..Hkayenin basit bir konusu var ama o kadar sevimli ve romantik ki..Kısaca çok güzel vakit geçirttiği gibi moralimi epeyce yükselltti..Moraliniz bozuk olduğunda bu kitabı elinize bir alın derim..
Yazarın Cüretkar isimli kitabı 2006 yılında basılmış ve bir daha ülkemizde kitabı çıkmamış biraz şöyle bir araştırdığımda yazarımızın epeyce okunacak kitapları var ve ben onları da okumak istiyorum..

Allyssa'nın evlenmek üzere olan samimi arkadaşı ondan çok sıra dışı bir istekte bulunur..Bekarlığa veda partisi yapılacaktı ve arkadaşı nişanlısının orada ne yaptuğını merak ediyordu..Bunun için Alyssa'dan yardım istedi..O da kabul etti..Düzenlenecek partide striptizci olarak girecekti kılık değiştirerek..Mindy(evlenecek arkadaşı) daha önceki nişanlısını bir kadın ile aynı yatakta yakalamıştı..Aynı şeyin tekrar başına gelmesinden çok korkuyordu..Tom için bu partiyi arkadaşı Cooper düzenliyordu yani kahramınımız:))

Değişik konusu itibaren ilgimi çeken bir roman oldu. İlk başlardaki yazım dili ve olayların gelişimini çok beğendim. Sürekleyici ve heyecan vericiydi. Baş karakterlerin aralarındaki ilişki son derece iyi tasvir edilmişti. Taa ki ortalarına doğru farklı bir kitaba dönüştü. Başında bahsedilen karakterlerden uzak farklı bir kurguya dönüşüyor gibiydi. Kötü olduğunu söyleyemem ama heyecandan yoksun uzatmalarla doluydu. Kopya bir kurgu gibi değil fakat ilk başlardaki tadı vermemesi kötü olmuş. Ortalama bir kitaptı...

I happen to be very into drama books. That is why I liked this book so much. It was very mischevious, sneaky, and dramatic. It's about a woman who sends her friend out to a club to spy on her fiancee. The book takes a wild spiral from there. It is very exciting and easy to get into. I enjoyed reading it and I didn't want to put it down. I would recommend this book to anybody who likes drama and action.

I really liked this book. It was a little sweet, a little spicy, and a little out there, but somehow it all worked out. I'd recommend this for when you need something light-ish and have a good couple of hours to read. I finished this book in a flash because I was enjoying it so much.

Entertaining book, I loved how the characters developed in this story. It had so many laugh out loud moments and the crazy animals Cooper ends up with at the auction. I loved that he chased after her and didn't give up.

This story jumped right and at first I did not like it, but then it seemed perfect. The book kept my attention throughout the story. Great ending to a great book.
