Slipping!!!

Ghetti had one foot out of the drug game when a jack move set up by one of his boys causes him to sink back in knee deep. Unwilling to take a loss his actions have him on the run for a double homicide. The two females detective assigned to Ghetti's case, Amanda and Volanda have no idea just how close to home the case is going to hit! While Ghetti's cousin Mance is going to have to figure out just how far he's willing to go to help family.

Victor L. Martin does an excellent job skillfully interweaving the cast of characters in The Game of Deception! What stands out even more was Mr. Martin's ability to encase some underlying messages in the story concerning black on black crime and safe sex. Topics usually overlooked in an urban book market the usually glorifies without exposing the pitfalls of street life. All helping The Game of Deception to be yet another satisfying read by Victor L. Martin!

This book had ga-zillions of twists and turns that did a great job of keeping me on my toes!! It had a lot of drama, sexy characters, descriptive sex scenes and an element of mystery, something for everyone!! It was filled with DECEPTION, more than I have ever seen in one book!! It was a very enjoyable read that kept me wondering about the characters and what would happen next when I had to put the book down to do other things! Vic Martin is indeed a very talented writer. Weaving the main plot, the sub-plot and the character development all together took a lot of thought and it definitely paid off. There were only a couple of real typos, but they did NOT interfere with the flow of the story at all. The ending wrapped things up nicely so that this could be a stand alone book OR he could definitely produce a very interesting sequel! VERY GOOD READ...Great Job Victor!!! I am defintely a new fan.

A Web of Deceit,

"Oh what a tangled web we weave when first we practice to deceive...''

I've got to say that I enjoyed Victor L. Martin's "The Game of Deception." It kept me turning the pages to see what was about to happen next. The twists added that much more excitement. He knew exactly when to bring characters in and when to drop them. And how can I forget the sex scenes? Victor did his thing. I often felt as if I was in the book with how descriptive and on point the sex was. And he didn't fail to mention the importance of safe sex - another plus.

For any urban book reader and anyone seeking an overall good read, I say pick it up and be prepared to go on a journey.

In this twisted tale of deception (The Game of Deception) Victor L. Martin takes readers on a ride that will end in a train wreck of envy, lies and deception. Ghetti just can't walk away from the Game, something seams to alwayz pull him back in. Amanda is living a triple life but that just might not end in her favor. Mance and Volanda love just doesn't come easy for these too. This is a must read novel that will have you wanting more. reviewed and recommended by coast2coastreaders.com
