This was a really fun book! When you read it, its like you are reading a diary or a letter or sitting next to this girl as she tells you about her adventure. Madeline or Maddie as we fondly refer to her as by the end of the book is a very annoying girl when the story first starts. Just kind of bratty and spoiled and no real concept of what other people might be feeling and maybe she doesn't really care. But as the story moves along, you begin to see another person, Maddie and not our Park Avenue Princess that first arrived in Australia.

There are many parts in this book that are just laugh out loud funny and some that are romantic! I am very fond of teen writer Katie Maxwell and I think this book reads a lot like one of her books. Easy to read, all from the teenagers point of view and just fun. A quick and easy read. If you have a reluctant reader, this book would be a hit I think.

I love the description that this writer gives to her characters, the way she puts them down on paper makes them easy to see in your mind while you are reading and its really cool. When you put the book down its more like friends then just empty characters in a book. Really enjoyable and fun.

So there is this thing where moms can go find dates and what do you know but yor mom does it and she find a guy who the big oh horrible part he doest live in the city or even new york for the matter he lives all the wasy in aussie(australlia) And he comes with a package a son and daughter. this was a sign he was not a good guy in M life .

The part where they get stuck stranded in the outback of the aussie was really exciting becasue she is almost a girl who jsut does what ever her mine come up with with out istining. would you after 5 hours think that osmeone is proposing to you evn thou your mom has been with the aussie guy form the internet for at least eight hours you will be the one who is proposed to.But to get back at you he laushgs and laughs at your face aobut the idea of you and him.

i thought that the wasy she described how M was feeling about the put back becasue it seemed she swithced back and forth.liks she was in M piont of view then the narrarator of the book then M talknig to your mom.this is good for her becasue you see how she acts is similar but differnt form her head.

I simply could not stand how this character kept saying "Eeeoww", this girl loved to whine. It wasn't a bad story, just kind of dated because of the references made in the story and the character's constant whining, but I guess that goes with the "princess" theme of the story, so I guess it fits. It had a cute little teen romance that built throughout the book and the end leaves you with a little smile on your face. Worth a read if you ca get your hands on a copy.

Princesses Don't Sweat was such a good book. I bought a couple of years ago and read it in a few days. I wouldn't let very young childern read it...it is more for older teens.
