Transparent and authentic, David and Teresa Ferguson offer a personal and reflective devotional in One Year Book of Devotions for Couples.

The topics are arranged by theme which centers the readers on one topic for seven days before moving on to the next. These devotions include David and Teresa’s personal illustrations which make the weekly theme, the verses selected scripture, and the prayers that end each devotion much more genuine.

I must add the voice change, moving from David speaking to Teresa and back, threw my comprehension off a bit during my reading. This is often the case with books authored by more than one person and may not affect your reading of this devotional.

If you are looking for a couples devotional that covers a wide variety of topics, One Year Book of Devotions for Couples is a good choice.

This devotional was great for me. I am always looking for Christian ways to improve myself, my life and my relationships. This book was others stories and real life accounts, that made you look at your life and how you live according to whatever moral code is instilled in you. I don't know how much of a change it has made in my life, but it did make me think a lot. My relationships have improved, though it could also be just aging and maturity. Hard to say. I still believe a good devotional never hurt anyone.

My husband and I really enjoyed doing this devotional together. I like that each week the book has a new topic to focus on. For each day, there is a short reflection, a Bible verse and a discussion question that relates to the theme of the week. The questions helped us better pinpoint things we needed to work on personally and in our marriage. At times the devotional is a bit repetitive, especially the questions, but is overall very helpful!

This book was great for my wife and I; we started this about two months before our wedding and just finished up the year with this. There are great tools and discussion points in here to help any couple. Many times, the daily devotion was spot on in terms of what was going on in our lives.

My husband and I read this devotional book together all year. It really helped us to open up to each other in areas that we had figured, after 37 years, were just going to stay the way they were. We read it together, usually in the morning, and then went our own ways to think about how it applied to ourselves, not the other person. What they related helped me to understand my husband better and helped him to understand me better. I would recommend this book to any married couple.
