This book has some lovely bead work and photos of said bead work. I really struggle with color and so I need more guidance than some - I did not find that guidance in this book. Still worth a look if seed beading is your cup of tea.

Too much philosophy rambling about colors, which is almost the whole book, but is useful in spite of it. The pallets are useful and some of the bead work is interesting. I would not have bought this full price but I got it at a library book sale, so I'm happy.

For any beader (or artistic person), this is an excellent book on color theory and how to apply its concepts to beadwork. Margie gives excellent examples throughout, with the many gorgeous color photos of beadwork that demonstrates the color characteristic she is writing about. Her writing is very easy to understand, and she draws the reader in, with her enthusiasm and extensive knowledge of color theory and beadwork. The sections on the qualities of beadwork that incorporates good use of color theory, and the one on the "personalities" or psychological feelings that different colors invoke in people are amazing - all in all, a very inspirational book on so many levels.

Sections on color theory, meanings of colors in different cultures, and advice about the color-fastness of various dyes and bead types. The book has full color illustrations suggesting palettes for monochromatic, analogous, complementary, and various other color schemes. Very useful and inspirational!
