There are some good things about this book, and there is a fatal flaw that prevents me from using it. That’s why it gets such a low rating from me.
There is a great deal of helpful information on how to use TVP as a meat substitute or as an extender for meat. There are several interesting recipes that I would like to prepare. However, for a reason I don’t understand, the author has chosen to make the ingredients of her cookbook images so that I can only read directions for the recipes. I am blind, and I use a program called a screenreader that lets me listen to text in a book. Screenreaders cannot speak images. I bought this book on the Kindle platform where I have purchased many excellent cookbooks, and this cookbook is marked as screenreader enabled. I am sad that there is no way to fix this issue. ☹️ If you are blind, skip this cookbook.
Friends, if any of you know of a similar book I might investigate, will you please leave a comment? Thanks.

This small, light weight paperback cookbook is a real gem. It's a smart way to get a great amount of protein in your diet if you're a vegetarian. There are some unique recipes in here like a curry involving ingredients like sliced apples, turnips, coconut milk etc. An Indonesian recipe uses peanut butter and candied ginger to make a good sauce. I was surprised at how many recipes in here are really valuable to me and more practical than a lot of other more complicated to make and lower protein recipes found in your common vegetarian cookbook. If you buy this book keep in mind that you can use frozen crumbles AKA meal starters by the Morningstar farms brand or other brands like boca. I tend to use the actual dry TVP because I was able to find it online at amazon or previously at a health food store (where it was weighed and cost little due to it's lightness).

This is the second time I have come across this great little book. It really is timeless, especially since so many of us are turning to a mostly plant based diet.
