Loved it!

A wonderful and funny sequel and conclusion to this story! I absolutely loved it! Elora is the best! Still one of the best takes on Beauty's ,and now Rune's, story!

I loved that not only did this feature Grimm Brothers’ characters, but it seamlessly combined the Hans Christian Andersen characters, too, sort of like Once Upon a Time, but kept to within the fairytale forest setting in the past, though oddly the Witch used modern slang and referenced modern things every so often. The story was full of morals, and adventure, and romance, and coming-of-age. Though it did feel like it was geared to a very young audience with Rune’s childish sing-song rhyming (though it did feel adult at times, too, with a sex scene – though not too graphic). Honestly, I never warmed to Rune. She seemed too spoiled, stubborn, self-centered, immature, and pretty much refused to listen to anyone around her unless it fit her view of how she wanted the enchantment to work, and she never seemed to actually have any personal growth during the story. Not to mention I didn’t really care for the focusing on religion, even though the story seemed rather anti-religion as in it seemed like Beauty was trying to stop her daughter from gaining religion (not that I have a problem with religion, it just seemed out of place in a fairytale setting). I did love that overall it had a mother trying to save her daughter and the ‘wicked’ witch Elora warming to the characters, rather than staying simply an evil character. In all, I would probably recommend this to people who like takes on the original fairy tales. Though this really isn’t a realistic adult take on it which seems to be flooding the market lately, considering this story actually tried to keep to the spirit of the originals. But it is a must for people who love flights of fantasy, talking animals, and plenty of imagination.

Again this sequel was just as good as the first! I am in love with Beauty and her daughter Rune and this book really helped wrap it all up into an ending they both deserve. At first I was unsure of Rune's character as she was snappy and rude towards her mother but while spending her time in Andersen Land that slowly changed, it was a bit of growth for Rune but she still remained true to herself. The satire and pop culture bits that I loved in the first have returned strong in this installment and I couldn't be happier. Aside from the editing errors this and its predecessor were beyond a pleasure to read-I wish there was more!

Okay I did love this book. It's a great sequel to "Mrs Beast" but it isn't as good as the first one. But I still loved it. It was worth reading and I would read both of them together. It rounds off the story from where Mrs Beast left off really, telling us about Rune, Beauty's daughter, and her journey to make herself beautiful. It did make me a little sad because it sent me a different message from the first book and it wasn't a message I loved like with the first book. Still it was worth reading for the same great humour as in the first book.
