These stories were very similar in structure, which makes sense because they are by the same author. But they didn't do it for me. There were two major reasons I didn't love these. The first was the structure with the flashbacks. Take two vampires and there are constant flashbacks to when they become vampires as well as other key moments in their 'existence'. The constant flashbacks took me out of the actual story happening and ruined the flow. I couldn't feel any tension or hope or excitement about the story because I kept getting thrown into a flashback story.

Secondly, the sex wasn't hot enough. If the stories and characters themselves were GREAT, then I'm okay with sexual tension but minimal sex scenes, etc. But the premise of these stories (aka reading the back of the book) is all about the hunger and wanting sexually, but then the sex scenes are lackluster. The scenes are few and far between for the length of each story and I wasn't hooked. That might be because I couldn't get into the stories due to the flashbacks...but I didn't care about the characters enough to root for them. I had hope the second story would be better but they are very similar in my 'problems' with them.
