I write erotic science fiction, paranormal and contemporary romances for Resplendence Publishing, Siren, Logical Lust and Cobblestone Press. In my other life, I write nonfiction. If you ever find me sitting in one place, it’s because I’m reading or writing.

I attended the University of Iowa as a creative writing major. Later I returned to school and became a Registered Nurse. You know, gotta make a buck! I am proud to admit that I was born and raised in Iowa, but I’ve lived, camped, hiked, traveled all over the United States and Israel. I am married with three children, a new puppy, two cats, two birds and two very lucky koi.

I like nothing better than to be out in the fresh air with my boys – hubby and dog! I’m a sports fanatic and I love riding horses – used to own three. Ten years ago, I lost my wonderful cutting mare to laminitis. I haven’t found a horse that can replace her. She was my best friend ever.

I come from a long line of amazing cooks – one of my great-great grandmothers was a chef to the Hungarian Royal Family – a fun day often involves creating a perfect meal. So I am all about food and fantasy and obsessive exercise – so I can eat my favorite food, chocolate!

All the best, Julia

When Julia told me she wrote her first menage I was immediately sure I had to read it. Julia's novels are always hot so I imagined a menage with THREE men would be scorching hot. And I was right.

One Four All feels like a contemporary fantasy novel. It's set in a kind of parallel universe. They seem to have the same technology we have but their religious and moral views are different from ours. Why fantasy? Because we have a princess and a king and those always stand for fantasy in my eyes. Yes I'm full of prejudices. I loved how this world was build up. Not through one big info dump but more through the story-telling We learn everything on the way- with a little tidbit here and there.

The story starts with 3 soldiers on the edge of diving into a war with the neighboring country, Zhinshu. But out of nowhere they get send away on a different mission. They should guard the wife of an "important" politician and they aren't really happy about this development at all. When they arrive at the mansion this changes nearly immediately. They can feel that something is not the way it should be. And when they lay their eyes on Lira for the first time they know that she's not there out of her free will. I loved that Kepp, Red and Wat were all so different in character. They all have their own appeal but I have to admit I had an extra soft spot for Red. He was funny and he won my heart ASAP.

Lira is the heir of the crown of Zhinshu. She got kidnapped by this crazy politician and he wants her to bear his children. He's not really happy about her being so complicated and denying him but luckily that's the way it works. She can't get pregnant if she's forced to have sex so he has to bring her to do it willingly. Not easy because Lira is a strong woman and even under threats and ransom she won't back down and give herself to him. She suffers through every torture he throws her way but her iron will never diminish. But she is relived when she first meets our three heroes because she can feel deep inside that they will be her rescue. She is a wonderful character, strong and made for being a queen. She knows her way around people and she knows how to defend herself. She's comfortable with herself and it shows in her actions. I really liked that girl.

The sex in this book is hot. Oh my this novel is made for a cold night at home. As you can imagine three guys and a woman is much and I have to admit at some points a bit too much for me. It was always sexy as hell but at some moments I thought it would be better with one guy less. See I'm not that greedy. But I still enjoyed it though.

The story itself is full of twists and turns and definitely has some actions. Onces or twice I sat straight on my couch and just couldn't read fast enough to see what would happen next. I always love how Julia makes her characters interact. It feels like real people would talk to each other and it always reminds me of talking to her. Her books are as she is, you just have to like them.

One Four All is a highly erotic and heartfelt story. The story will draw you in and the characters will make you smile more than once. Recommended for all erotica and menage lovers.

Can 3 such different men learn to share the woman they love?

I really enjoyed how Julia brought all the characters to life. Sometimes in menage stories the men all sort of blur together but here Kepp, Red and Wat are all very distinct individuals who had never even considered sharing a woman together. And what a woman they meet. Lira is a strong character who embodies what a princess should be and while you know she will win over her men, because it is a romance story after all, you don't know how she will do it.

Oh, did I mention that this story is HOT?!? Very sensual erotica. Wait until you read the 'bath' scene. Oh my.

I know it is rather cliche to say I wish the story was longer, but I really, really wish this story was longer.

I would definitely be willing to read a continuation of this story with these characters going forth from the end of this book and dealing with all the trials of a royal marriage where the woman is the royal heir. I'm sure it would be a very good read based on this part of the story.
*hint to Julia*

I want to know more about these men and their new wife. I found them so intriguing and I can't believe their story is over. I just want to wallow in this world of Julia's. I want to know so much more about this alternate reality that Julia has created. She managed to make these 3 men very alpha and yet caring and supportive of their 'woman' and each other. Everything happened very quickly because of the intensity of the situation, but the little bit of angsting the main guy dealt with I thought was well done. I liked how the men interacted with each other which is also a bit rare in menage stories. I have seldom read menage that has the men really talking about their situation with each other.

I also want to read about the General's story. He was only a fringe character, but once again Julia's talent for characterization struck well and I want to know more about him.

In short, I loved this story and I'll be reading it again at some point. Are there things I would wish to see improved upon? Yes. However I am still going to give it 5 stars just because I loved the characters so much.

I am happy to have found a new author whose work I am looking forward to reading more of. In fact, I'm going to go get some more of her stories as soon as I hit the publish button. *happy sighs*

Lira a princess and heir to the throne of Zhinshu has been kidnapped and now being held hostage by a man who wants a child from her so he can control two nations. Lira is no sitting flower, so when a group of three men literally crash into her room she knows it’s time to make her move to plot escape while simultaneously binding herself to her three chose consorts.

Three Khubuk soldiers have been dispatched to watch the wife of a very important man. Captain Kepp is immediately indignant when told of the assignment knowing full well his talents along with those of his two comrades are better served to fight the Zealots that are threatening there border. Something about this assignment isn’t right from the beginning and the three men know it, but they decide to play along.

This is definitely one of spiciest ménages I’ve read and no doubt will make a great next read for those looking in this particular sub-genre. I do have to say that although I liked where the storyline was going, I was a tad confused along the way. Between learning the names, personalities of the people you need to know, and then learning of the world built around them. I wouldn’t have minded if the story was a bit longer to help accommodate that. It also may seem a little strange to some that the main characters involved fall in love within a matter of 48 hours of knowing each other, but then again with a little imagination, those types of “wait a minute…” moments melt into the background as the story progresses and you get to know more about the characters. The ending of course was very fitting and can easily be viewed as the intro to the next installment, if there was to be one.

Recommended reading for those seeking a spicy ménage set in a new world between a princess and three of the hottest soldiers you’ll have the pleasure of meeting.

The four of them met and had sex, it wasn’t instant love but instant intercourse. I think she needed to better cement the feeling between the four before diving right into the lust. that said, those scenes were raw with sensuality. So hot and unique. They made my toes positively curl. The only reason this insta-sex isn’t hurting the rating is because of the scene afterward. Ms. Barrett does a great job with it. The characters learn that they’re the 3 consorts to the princess. Our sweet and sexy Lira tricked them. This is just one surprize that the group must deal with.

Granted some twist were obvious. There were some run-on sentences that really stuck out. Still, the ending was sweet and satisfying. This was a quick read that had romance and sensuality bursting out of the pages
