I love books with a Chicago locale and this was no exception. The scenes along the Lake front, in Old Town and in Schaumburg are all realistic. Roya Pulaski had it all, a handsome husband, a beautiful home, 2 wonderful daughters, and suddenly her life is thrown into turmoil when her husband commits suicide. Her world comes tumbling down as she discovers he is near bankruptcy, having an affair, and very possibly a victim of a mob murder. Roya does what she never thought she could, pulls the business back together, moves to a smaller house, and along the way discovers a real romance. There are side stories involving the daughters, her sister, and her in-laws which complement the main story. This was an enjoyable, quick read.
