This book does exactly what it sets out to do, and does it very well. It can’t help that its subject matter happens to be very boring…

Doc Fails, the founder of FMI, astutely observed that "contractors do three things: get work, do work, and keep score." The book, written in an engaging, conversational style, expertly guides readers through the complexities of managing a construction business's finances and economics. The authors demonstrate a remarkable ability to simplify intricate concepts into understandable language, fostering both enlightenment and a sense of responsibility in the reader. It thoroughly covers the spectrum of project accounting and productivity, offering insights at both the granular project level and the broader organizational perspective. This book impressively achieves in approximately 300 pages what years of expensive higher education often strive to convey, making it a valuable resource for all professionals in the construction industry.
