Stanley and Hall offer insightful advice for structuring and planning a student ministry in this book. I advise you to read it during the process of planning your ministry. The focus of each chapter will most likely fit into some part of your programming, but not necessarily in the order the book presents, so take good notes! I enthusiastically recommend The Seven Checkpoints to any student minister or volunteer interested in intentional organization of student ministry for significan spiritual growth.

This book had a lot of great ideas for doing youth ministry in a church context. The book didn't really talk as much about practical ways to implement these larger ideas in a youth program as I would have liked. Much of the content was, however, quite useful, especially if you are attempting to reorient the direction of your church's youth ministry.

Great checkpoints. It is funny reading this book which was written in 2001. The nine years that have passed have seen many changes in the youth culture. Fortunately, what the students need to know hasn't changed! Helpful for those who are doing youth Ministry.
