I have enjoyed the stories in the Long Road Home series where a woman by the name of Blessings seems to do some of her magic with the various individuals she meets in the Atlanta USO lounge.
This time the story takes us to Jasper Creek where former resident and after 20 years, recently retired Marine Ranger Roan Thatcher has returned.
Whom he never expected to meet was Lisa Reynolds. A woman that intrigues him and whose past is filled with trauma and hurt.
Will Roan be able to find the person that is harassing Lisa? Will Lisa allow herself to take a chance on life and love?
This was a story filled with heart and wonderful characters. Another engaging addition to the series written by talented authors.
I was entrusted a copy of this book. The opinions expressed are solely my own.

This is a book from the Long Road Home series. I didn't want to put it down, once I started reading. Roan and Lisa definitely don't have an easy time of things. Roan gets home to Jasper Creek to find nothing is as he thought it would be. Roan and Lisa did not get off on the right foot...at all. Roan is confused and disillusioned, and Lisa is convinced that he is going to be a thorn in her side. After talking to his brother, Roan decided he might have been hasty and a bit judgemental. He convinced Lisa to go to lunch with him and things blossomed from there. The road to their HEA is fraught with danger, suspense, laughter and tears. A definite must read! Sorry, no spoilers. I received this ARC and here is my honest review.

Home At Last🏠

Home At Last is the final book in this season of the Long Road Home. Blessing is up to her usual woo woo stuff. Roan arrives at the Atlanta airport in the hopes of catching a flight home to surprise his dad and two brothers - now that he’s been discharged from the military. But what he finds when he arrives home in Jasper Creek is beyond his wildest dreams…on ALL fronts😳

I will say I haven’t read any of the Jasper Creek stories with Simon and Trenka or Millie’s story, but I’ll definitely be checking them out soon😊 I’m looking forward to starting the next season of the Long Road Home❣️

Roan, now out of the military is heading home…finally. But there are some big changes when he arrives home. His dad is no longer running the family business, it’s Lisa. And oh boy is he attracted to her.

His protector side comes out when he finds out someone is stalking Lisa. Cue the drama and suspense and some heat between them as they get to know each other. Great story with characters that come to life before you eyes.

I voluntarily reviewed an advanced copy of this book.

After an interesting experience at the airport as he's flying home, Roan Thatcher finally gets to his destination. His first stop is Pearl's to pick up dinner. He knows what he's going to have, and he'll eat then bring a meal to his dad when he's done. As expected, Pearl's was exactly the way he remembered, that may be the last thing that is.

As he pulls up to the house, he notices the front door is red. His dad wouldn't paint the door red. Then he can't use his key, the locks on his childhood home have been replaced by a keypad and it doesn't appear that his father is at home. He immediately calls his father and finds out the house is now an Airbnb; the Avery sisters manage it for him and he's living in Florida. His dad is heading out fishing but would come up next Friday, in the meantime his dad tells him to relax and enjoy some downtime.

Lisa Reynolds, the manager of Thatcher's Renovations and Repairs, gets quite the surprise as she leaves for work. The air has been let out of all her tires. She calls the shop first to see who can come with a portable air compressor, getting a hard time from Gene Hollister who's in charge of restorations, but eventually gets through to him about who to send. Then she calls the deputy, getting his voicemail and having to leave a message. This is the fourth incident since she moved in, and she wants to keep it with the same person. The first was all the flowers she planted died within a week of putting them in, second was a flood caused by someone turning on the spigot in the yard which in turn caused a lake effect in her yard and messing up her septic system as well and the third was having her groceries stolen off her porch, and now this.

When Roan stops by the shop, he's pleased to see some changes for the better, but no one seems to be around. As he approaches the break room he hears voices and listens in as Lisa is going over what needs to be done. He doesn't like what he's hearing but eavesdropping isn't his thing so he moves to the door and leans against it.

He's impressed with Lisa, and also surprised that she would put a long-term employee on probation. He also wants to know more about her possibly buying into the business, so he asks her to lunch to get to know her a bit.

What started out good, with both of them opening up about themselves, shortly turns sour as Roan tells her he likes her but doesn't trust her.

After he talks to a few people he realizes how wrong he actually was and knows he has to grovel. He does it well, and Lisa ends up agreeing to accompany him to dinner at the * and then a dinner date later in the week.

Let me say here, that nothing has been discovered about the incidents at Lisa's home, and the worst is yet to come.

I loved the way the relationship between Lisa and Roan works it's way to sizzle. He's protective of her and she's so independent they balance each other.

The resolution of the other problems had me on the edge of my seat, and turning the pages as fast as I could.

Don't miss this book!

‘Home at Last’ by Caitlyn O’Leary is part of a multi-author loosely connected series ‘The Long Road Home’ that follows several military men who are trying find their place in the world after they leave the service. This story is about Roan and Lisa who don’t exactly hit if off when they first meet. I have to admit I was pretty annoyed with Roan for the first few chapters, but he more than makes up for it after that. Roan retires from the Marine Raiders and returns to his hometown of Jasper Creek, with plans to work in his family auto repair business and spend time with the family. He finds that things are not at all what he expected; his father has moved to Florida and Lisa is running the family business.
Lisa is a strong capable woman in a typically male dominated field who fights the frequent doubts and undercutting from several men. Based on initial behavior, she assumes Roan is just one more jerk who doesn’t believe she can do the job. Making her life even more complicated, Lisa is the victim of some odd harassing behaviors that the local police are not taking seriously. As Roan and Lisa overcome their initial challenges and begin to grow close, we also learn that Lisa has some deep seated issues of abandonment from childhood and tends not to stay in one place very long. Roan has to tread carefully and has to deal with what is beginning to look like an escalating stalker. There is considerable steam between these two and they make a great couple.
As is often the case, there are many characters from previous books that make appearances, most notably Simon, Trenda and Bella (from ‘His Wounded Heart’). There are many wonderful characters from Jasper Creek (I so want to live there) and from both Roan’s and Lisa’s families. The lingering threat and Roan’s future career are resolved late in the book and are both very satisfying conclusions.
This book had good pacing and provided wonderful romance and exciting action. While I love all the other books by this author, the newer ones set in Jasper Creek are among my very favorite and I am looking forward to more books set here. We get a little tease on Renzo and Millie’s book which is slated to come out next year.
I really enjoyed this book and definitely recommend it or anything by this author. I got this book as ARC in exchange for an honest review.

Love the Long Road Home series and this time it intersected beautifully with Caitlyn O'Leary's wonderful Jasper Creek series. Recently retired Marine Raider Roan Thatcher is returning home to Jasper Creek ready to settle down after nearly 20 years in the military, having had little contact with his family in the last year or so. Roan expects to move into the family business to work alongside his father and brothers but arrives home, not having told them he's retiring to find that his family seem to have moved on with their lives without him. His Dad has retired to Florida and left the business in the hands of smart, funny, independent wanderer Lisa Reynolds. Lisa has spend most of grown-up life moving from place to place, experiencing life and working what ever job pops up but she feels an affinity for Jasper Creek, it feels like home and she loves her job managing the garage and is extremely good at it even handling some deeply misogynistic employees. Thrown that the home and future he envisioned has changed so much, Roan is instantly intrigued and attracted to Lisa whilst not quite trusting her whilst Lisa finds him annoyingly judgemental and attractive. As their relationship starts to blossom Roan learns Lisa is the victim of a number of odd occurrences or pranks that no one seems to be taking seriously. Roan sets about using his former skills to find out who is preying on Lisa especially when things start to escalate. As events come to ahead will Lisa learn to trust that Roan will be there for her and will Roan have a chance to realise Blessing was right and Lisa is the home he never realised he wanted.
Plenty of wonderful characters of course, lots of old friends turning up to help out, action and suspense and a fair few bumps in the road in this excellent story - love it and highly recommend.

The Long Road Home series is written by various authors and all deal with various tropes but all involved a military veteran returning home after a deployment/retirement and having a meeting with the intuitive and possible psychic Blessing!

Roan didn't warn anyone he was retiring from the Marines and returning to Jasper Creek and seems to think that everyone will just be there where he left them. However, life goes on and he soon founds out his dad has moved, his childhood house is an Air B&B and the family business is being run by a new resident.

Lisa is a complete nomad. She's had more jobs than me and never sticks in any one place too long.
But she likes Jasper Creek and really feels that she belongs. Running the automotive business owned by Roan's dad is something she got her teeth into and really enjoys. But misogyny is rife and it appears that someone really doesn't like her and they're making her life a misery. To top it off she now has Roan digging into her business and being all...annoyingly attractive!

Lots of old and new friends to be found in Jasper Creek. I loved learning more about Lisa. Her bond with her dad and grandad is amazingly strong - they really raised an independent woman. Lisa’s dealt with a lot and just keeps ticking on. Roan is strong, protective MMC with mad cooking and baking skills! He's equally at home on the range or in the kitchen and had no qualms in letting Lisa know how he felt about her.

There are some great action scenes as the stalking storyline develops and I loved the way the "gang" just drops everything to help out Roan and Lisa.

Can't wait for the next story!

I love it when we get a cross over between two series and it is even better when they are both series that I love So this is the fifteenth book in The Long Road Home series where men retiring from the military usually special ops are held up at Atlanta airport and end up in the USO where they come across Blessing and her timely advice about building a life after the military and she is definitely got some WooWoo skills. In this latest offering we get the story of Roan Thatcher he originally joined the marines intending to do his four years them go to University and return to work at the family business in Jasper Creek. Twenty years later he is retiring as a Marine Raider still intending to work in the family business only thing is there is a woman running the business his brothers have their own lives and his father has retired to Florida. Soon he realises that maybe he isn't cut out to work a nine to five job in a garage a job that Lisa Reynolds is doing very well. But he can protect Lisa from the stalker that is making her life hell This is where we reconnect with Simon and Tendra and the Protectors f Jasper Creek the second series found in this book. Soon it will take all of Simon and Roan's skills to keep her safe and get to the bottom of who and why she is been stalked by be prepared for an adventure ride that will keep you engaged until the last page

Jasper Creek is a small town but it seems to be a place where you find love and make a home... But it might be a bit dangerous!

Lisa's been a rolling stone since she was 18, when she ended up in Jasper Creek, she found she liked the town and her job, managing the local garage.
Well other than the odd unexplained occurrences happening. Nothing she could put her finger on to why or who was wanting to annoy her, but it was the only cloud over her life.

When the owner of the garage, Roan retires from military service, he has plans to settle back in Jasper Creek and help his dad, he has a shock waiting for him... His childhood this an Airbnb and there's a cute little blonde running his dad's business!
Roan first impression of Lisa's not a favorable one, but it's not long before the attraction both have for each other smoothes out those details.
As the relationship start's to blossom, those little annoying pranks start to escalate and before long Roan is using his past skills to work out whos stalking Lisa.
I really enjoyed reading this book, watching Roan and Lisas relationship blossom and watch Lisa learning to trust people more.
And of course ms O'Leary doesn't disappoint with some action and suspense in the mix.
Most of all this story is about taking a chance and not letting your past stop you from finding love. 😍 I love my HEA ❤️

It was ok, but leaning toward bad much more than good. I wanted to quit reading a bunch of times but had a couple of long flights and nothing better to do.

The writing was odd at times. Weird bits in the dialogue which make it a little off.
And there were parts of this story that just didn’t make sense. Who orders $100 worth of groceries and has them delivered when they aren’t home? Especially if you purchased ice cream too? It would be melted if you had them deliver during the day because you didn’t expect to get home until late that evening. Makes no sense.
Another part that was skimmed over and stupid was the bloody skull. At no point during the whole ordeal did the author say it was fake until later when Roan and Simon were going over who might be doing this to Lisa. Then they mention it was real blood, but no mention of from what.
And then when the men go in to save Lisa, Millie, and Bella, why the heck would they decapitate the creep (Rod)!? What happened to not scarring the victims and bringing in proper authorities? I mean killing Rod is a heck of a lot already but decapitation!!?? It was just too much and made no sense. Like the author wanted this crazy shock factor but just blows past it without properly telling the story.

So I’d skip this one. It’s just not well developed or told.

Home at Last by Caitlyn O’Leary is the 15th book in the Long Road Home series by multiple authors. This installment features Roan Thatcher’s return to Jasper’s Creek after his military career and everything has changed. His family home is different, his dad moved, and now a woman named Lisa is running the family business. He wants to see her as the enemy, but there’s just something about her that keeps drawing him in. But between her itchy feet and a dangerous vandal/stalker situation, Roan’s not sure if he can convince her that they have staying power.

What a fun return to Jasper’s Creek! We got to see some old friends and meet some new ones! Lisa’s backstory tugged at my heartstrings, and Roan ticked all my boxes as a strong, protective hero who’s also sensitive and loving. The two of them definitely turn up the heat together! The small town vibe is great and the supporting characters bring great dialogue and some funny moments. The suspense plot was intriguing throughout with twists, turns, and action that brought in some Team guys for help. I’m a sucker for those kind of scenes! It was an entertaining ride all around! I can’t wait for Millie and Renzo’s story!

I received an ARC for free, and am leaving this review voluntarily.

Another wonderful entry into the Long Road Home Series and a nice check in with the Jasper Creek gang. Any Caitlyn O'Leary book will have characters with real heart and real problems. Lisa has some emotional scars from her childhood, but is woman enough to let a caring heart show her how good life can be. Roan has relatively little baggage considering he is leaving the Marines after twenty years. Roan and Lisa are an awesome pair. Lisa is a real spitfire who takes no grief in a male dominated world, and Roan is man enough to actually apologize, their meeting holds just enough angst to not be annoying and to add to the drama of their relationship. There are a lot of cameos throughout this book, so it does give a nice catchup with prior Jasper Creek residents, the Avery girls and the men who love them, and the town in general. Plus, turns out there is a second amazing restaurant with Pearl 2.0 in Little Grandma, I really hope we see more of her! I received an ARC and voluntarily left this review.

Roan and Lisa don’t have an easy start. Roan begins the story with a major misunderstanding, believing that Lisa is the enemy who took over his father’s beloved business. In reality, his father was unhappy running it and simply wanted to move on to a place where the memory of his late wife wouldn’t haunt him.

Because Roan was serving in a special military unit, he lost contact with his family. When he returns and discovers that Lisa now runs the business he had always considered his end goal, he reacts badly. He becomes rude, questions her every decision, and refuses to believe she’s capable of running things on her own. He also resents her for pushing out a long-time employee—unaware that the man is actually a misogynist and a leech.

Roan’s brother quickly sets him straight, and Roan admits his mistakes. He tries to make amends with Lisa and soon realizes he’s attracted to her. When Lisa starts dealing with a stalker, Roan’s protective instincts kick in.

Overall, it’s a fairly standard story. It’s not boring, but it’s also not particularly exciting or memorable.

This is book 15 in The Long Road Home and omg Caitlyn Oleary did not disappoint us readers with book not only do we have a fantastic story that's electrifying and compelling and tantalizing and captivating but also filled with heartbreak and suspense and action packed and chemistry that will have you enthralled in this book. Roan is now out of the seals and is headed back home to Jaspee creek to surprise his dad,but he is the one in for a surprise and just when he didn't expect to find the love of his ,but she has someone terrorizing her ,but can he keep her safe? Lisa runs Roans dad's garage but when she sees Roan can she keep him at a distance? Lisa has been through so much in her life and when tough gets going she runs but will she run into her stalker?I absolutely loved the cross over with this book as we get to see our sexy seals again. If I could give this book more than a 5 I would so definitely do it.loved it.

I thoroughly enjoyed Caitlyn's newest edition to the Binge Read Babes "The Long Road Home" series. And even better we return to Jasper Creek, TN and see familiar characters from her other series. Roan's return home after retiring from the Marine Raiders is met with shocking surprises, mainly his family having moved away. But perhaps one of the biggest surprises also becomes the biggest blessing as he meets Lisa and finds his future. Lisa is a tough woman who knows cars and is running his family's business. After a bit of a rocky start that puts Roan on her bad list briefly, the two heat things up. As Roan and Lisa navigate their relationship, the danger for Lisa grows as someone sets their sights on her, adding danger, action, and suspense while also bringing in more beloved Caitlyn characters from other series. An engaging read that kept me flipping the pages in anticipation as these two make their way to a HEA.

We love Blessing and her WooWoo!

Roan has no idea just how right Blessing is going to be, some things really are beyond special.
Lisa is a puzzle, she is so confident in some things and others she is totally thrown by the simplest thing or even words. She has sass when needed, but then doubts herself in private and whilst she wants to hate Roan for his jump to conclusions when he first arrives, she cannot deny the attraction and chemistry.
Roan knows he has made a huge mistake and I love that he is man enough to admit it and grovel for forgiveness. It doesn't take him long to see how special Lisa is, but also how skittish, he knows she is his 'one' so he calls on his 20 years of training and missions for the most important mission of his life....win Lisa's heart! He will definitely win yours too.

The Long Road home series has taken us on quite a journey. In this next installment we have Roan coming home from a long and hard career as a Marine Raider. Caitlyn O’Leary spins a story that will have you on the edge of your seat for both the romance and the mystery that the book entails. Roan’s story first begins with our favorite Blessing and her cryptic thought about his future. And can I say Roan is in for a ride! He comes home expecting everything to be exactly how he left it, but the world changed and grew. His dad’s house is now an AirBnB and his shop is run by Lisa. Roan has to adjust to his new reality and figure out what he’s going to do now. Lisa is such a take no prisoners, independent woman. Her threats are escalating and you’ll never guess who the culprit is. Can’t wait for the next!

Roan has spent the last two decades serving his country but now he is ready to approach the next step of his life. He believes that he will return to his hometown, the home that he grew up with and work at his father’s business, but he is about to realize that time has passed and that life as he knew it is no longer the same.

Lisa has been managing the auto repair business that Roan’s father owns and is used to men undervaluing her skills. Even though she and Roan didn’t get off to the best start it isn’t long before the sparks fly however as the suspense part of the story escalates, she realizes that there is no one else she would rather have by her side.

Although Roan was a little taken aback by all the changes he realizes who and what will truly make him happy while Lisa is independent and strong-willed which makes them the perfect match for each other.

Home at Last is technically the 15th book in the multi author series, Long Road Home, but it also slips seamlessly into Caitlyn O’Leary’s Protectors of Jasper Creek too! This is a story filled with emotional depth, strong family ties, danger and suspense, independent and driven characters, and a whole lot of simmering chemistry; all of which provide the reader with a fascinating and enthralling escape.

I thoroughly enjoyed this book with the easy ebb and flow of the storyline, the anticipation and intrigue in the plot and a romance that warms the heart and renews one’s faith in love. Home at Last is a captivating and entertaining story and one that is sure to be a favourite with its audience.

Thank you to the author who provided a complimentary digital ARC of this novel for review. The opinions expressed here are strictly my own.

This is the last installment of The Long Road Home Season 3. This series is written by multiple authors and can be read as stand alones, however, they begin with the same premise. Military veterans who are returning home and cross paths with each other in the Atlanta Airport. They also meet Blessing a woman with insight and Woo Woo powers that guide them to their destinations. I love this series and recommend it highly. Caitlyn gives us Roan and Lisa's story. Roan sets out to surprise his family by returning home after retirement, but comes home to a surprise of his own. Soon he is in protection mode as someone is after Lisa. Home at Last has mystery, action, steam, family and an HEA like only Caitlyn can write. A wonderful read.

I’m so happy to be reading about Jasper Creek and to be visiting some beloved characters again! But don’t be mistaken, this is a standalone that can be read as part of a series or just by itself. Roan Thatcher is retiring and coming home. But is it going to be the home he always envisioned? Or is he going to need to keep an open mind so he can be home ? Add in Lisa’s situation , and we have a fantastic suspense romance with an ex marine raider and a sassy gal! Along the lines, we read a little about the Avery sisters, and the adorable Bella and Simon Clark and more!!

Caitlyn O’Leary weaves a story where the guy is dreamy and always knows what the shero needs. And he supports her while she fights her battles. JC is turning out to be a real Home At Last!!

I am an avid reader of Caitlyn's books/series, & this is the latest one that definitely didn't disappoint. My only regret was that I didn't have the time to devote to reading it in just a few days due to the Holidays being here. I loved how interwoven Roan & Lisa's characters become with the other characters of Caitlyn's previous series & in Jasper Creek. From the time these two met, circled around & flirted with each other, you just wanted to root for them to find their HEA! Scary stalker mystery story line adds intrigue, & I love how Caitlyn weaves her next couple in Jasper Creek into this story. I can't wait to read about how Renzo & Millie's story develops. Hats off to another great read!

Roan had been in the marines for 20 years and when he comes back home so much has changed. There's a woman he's never met running the family business, his house is now a b&b, and his dad has moved to Florida.

As Roan gets to know Lisa who is managing the family business they start to develop feelings for each other. During this time Roan discovers that someone has been stalking Lisa and his protective instincts kick in; he is a protector down to the core.

He starts staying with her to protect her and they get closer during this time and fall in love. Then the stalker gets Lisa and Roan and her friends work together to get her back.

It's an amazing book that was hard to put down and I can't wait to read the next book in this series.

Roan & Lisa

A very heartfelt and fulfilling love story packed full of emotions and angst.

I love Roan’s sense of home. His descriptions of his hometown and the food he craves shows his love of the town and his memories of growing up there.

I enjoy Lisa’s moxie and sense of adventure as she travels and explores areas that interest her. She has experienced and accomplished more trades in such a short time than most people do in a lifetime.

I just love how Blessing knows and can predict what’s in someone’s heart and future.

This story is full of good people, delicious food descriptions, humor, love of family, loyalty and lots of romance. You won’t want to put this one down until it’s finished! Love it!

Lisa didn’t know where she belonge in her life. As such, she traveled the country trying to find her place enjoying it as she does. As she traveled down the Appalachian Trail, she came along Jasper Creek. Once there, she knew she was home. I can’t imagine how relieved and possibly scared Roan was to retire and come home. I would not have taken what he found when he got there as gracefully as he did, but like he said, when your Plan A doesn’t work, Plan B might. I love how honest they were with each other and were not as wishy washy to each other. When the past comes for Lisa, it is Roan and the others in Jasper Creek who help. I for one think there should have been more Drake in this book, but I am biased.

Roan has retired and is back where it all began but life has moved on and now he has to adapt to those changes. One of those changes is Lisa. Can he see that she will add to the life he dreamed of?
Lisa has itchy feet. But Jasper Creek calls to her. Meeting Roan isn't what she expected. She doesn't do relationships so how has she found herself so entwined with Roan? And will she survive to find out if they can last?
I thoroughly enjoyed finding out in this well written funny read by Caitlyn O'Leary.

Another great read in this wonderful series. This instalment features Roan and Lisa and wow sparks certainly did fly as Lisa is one feisty character! There is plenty of excitement along with the developing love story. This book is a standalone, however it was great to have the opportunity to catch up with characters from previous series. As always with Caitlyn O' Leary's books there is plenty of spice, a great plot and believable characters you can relate to, all wrapped up in a great story while the couple chase their HEA. I recommend this book unreservedly and eagerly await the next book from this talented author.

Roan Thatcher is finally home after serving years in the military. He’s ready for a change. He just didn’t expect the surprises he finds when he gets there.

Lisa Reynolds has found her place in life after wandering around for years. She just didn’t expect Roan to come crashing into her life.

Roan and Lisa have a rocky start. But they soon find each other irresistible. But when strange things start happening to Lisa the protector in Roan roars to life. She’s gotten under his skin and he will do whatever is necessary to protector her. But her stalker has upped his game. Can Roan be the protector she needs?

Woo woo surprises

Roan was surprised coming home to find a woman running the family business, Lisa can hold her own against them even though they don't give her the respect she deserves by having the blessing of the shop owner and was put in charge, slowly getting to know each other they clicked, creepy things happening to Lisa will she let him protect her, Holy moly this book was thrilling, riveting, suspense filled, and most importantly love, the building of a family, what a beautiful ending to a great series ending, and looking forward to season four of the long road home, thank you, Dana Zamora
