Letters From The Open Road

Rate this book
From the completely juvenile yet brilliant mind of Sidharth Sharotri comes a compilation of his ‘serious automobile journalism’ work, which consisted of him driving posh cars and making up stories around them for newspapers. These highly technical ( not at all technical) articles first appeared in a weekly motoring page called Honk in Deccan Chronicle and Asian Age between 2013 and 2015, which this author was exclusively entrusted with. Letters from the Open Road does exactly what his newspaper articles did – make the reader giggle a little bit while making them wonder if they should chase their own childhood dreams.

“That said, just about every carmaker, including the Koreans, has a nice little sweet spot. The Japanese have their no-fuss exceptionally reliable everyday cars, the Americans have their signature evocatively-named muscle cars, the British make just about the best front-engined two-seater sportscars on the planet and the Italians do supercars.”
This one quote will give you an idea of ho extensive the author's knowledge is on the subject of automobiles and how he can breakdown huge components of details into easier nuggets-sized digestible information that even an automobile amateur will be able to grasp the finer point of this industry.
He gives a dramatic account of all the automobiles he has dealt with in the past so that we don’t have to go through the rougher and harder paths he had to take. He is like an automobile guide but even better.
So if you're looking for a book that will leave you feeling entertained, motivated, and energized, look no further than "Letters from the Open Road." It is a book that truly has something for everyone.
