Necropolis had to be in John Wagner's intentions his last Judge Dredd's tale, the highest peak of 30 years of stories, ending previous storylines in a great swan song, a chilling dark masterpiece with tension building page after page until the explosive final climax with artist Carlos Ezquerra Dredd's co-creator at his best too.

Luckly author decided he had still lots to say about the character and his world, but otherwise this should have been a great way to say goodbye to it.

Re-read 27/3/16: Re-reading this during neo-Thatcherism is slightly unnerving. Judge Death's back and it takes a re-focused Dredd to put Mega-City One back on an even keel (firmly under Dredd's own jackboot). Democracy really is, plainly, a luxury not deserved by the people.
