I thought Wolf Lake was just a name. I should have known better.
Inheriting a tearoom and bookshop was a dream come true, until rumours and myths became my terrifying reality. And to make matters worse, all I can think about is the three men arguing over me.
My name is Everly, and when my grandmother left me her beloved tearoom and bookshop, I couldn’t believe my luck. But arriving in Wolf Lake, it becomes clear that the name is well earned, especially when I discovered my grandmother’s journal. Not only did it detail her shifting into the form of a wolf…but it says I will do the same!
Between learning of an ability I never knew existed and the three guys who I just can’t stop thinking about, I feel like I am in over my head. A sexy fireman who came to my rescue and hasn’t been able to stay away since, a sensual artist who literally took my breath away the first time we met, and a steamy handyman who hates me as much as I hate him, but I just can’t keep my eyes off him. The little voice inside me is saying we’re linked, all of us, but that can’t be right, can it?
If all this wasn’t enough, Wolf’s Lake is being threatened by an evil striking from the shadows, and a kid is missing. And without the three hunks that are hotting up my life by my side, I don’t think I am going to survive.
Wolf’s Awakening is the first book in the slow burn Shadow Moon Shifters romance series, where the heroine gets her guys.

When I'm not writing sexy contemporary romance I'm reading it. I haven't been lucky enough to find my own dark and brooding billionaire just yet, but a girl can dream! I like getting outdoors with friends and have a regular day job that I enjoy, but hope to be a full time writer someday soon.
56% of her not believing anything, 56% of her thinking her grandmother was crazy. The changing eye colours, the voices she was hearing, honestly....
My pet peeves are long internal dialogue and this heroine is practically yammering to herself for most of what I read. It is repetitive and annoying. The second is the TSTL stuff, is it just me or does everyone introduce themselves with their full name and life story, to everyone!! What's next bank details? Oh wait she did that too. That is just one of the cleverest things she does.
I understand she's 18 but goodness me, I thought authors had stopped writing women to be so ditsy.
I tried, I truly did. It had so much set up for it. The inheritance from a grandmother she’d never met. The secret wolf heritage and small town vibes. The RH setup for love interests. But yet, everything just read so clunky to me. It could’ve been because I’ve been reading a lot lately and my brain needed a break, but I just couldn’t get any farther.
A shifter, reverse harem romance that just didn't quite work. The guys are all model gorgeous alphas, at odds with each other don't and fight over her like a chew toy. The town is so helpful with a total stranger picking up her grandmother's life, including a special role in town. The FMC is an 18 year old, who is reactionary and exhausting, but she will save the town and be enough for her guys ..... and its a NO from me.
The idea of this story is great, but the amount of cringe was too much for me. If the cringe was removed and there was added more substance on the storyline, this would've been good.
Liked the story, love the brooding fated mates bonds , and the tea and book shop in a tiny town is just too compelling to resist!
I'm missing the build up in characters though . Taking a break from the series , but planning on coming back - the story was compelling enough for me to want to read the rest :)
Everly inherits her Grandmothers tea and bookshop as well as her house. Everly takes the chance to start anew and move to Wolf's Lake. Everly does not expect to find out that there is a lot more to her Grandmother than she imagined, finding out she has a history that will change everything Everly knows. Throw in three handsome men who are tied to her in a way she could ever imagine, will Everly embrace her future or will reject it all?
I liked the history in this one and thought the way it unfolded was great. That being said the romance portion of the story was not really a part of the story. Yes there is some but more a slow burn and I had questions particularly about Everly she was so young some of the story did not fit for me. The premise is good just not quite there for me.
I really enjoyed the storyline, I just wish there was a little more dialogue , imo. Other than that I had a lot of fun reading this! Typical wolf shifter bok was exactly what I needed and this gave!
At first, I had trouble getting into this. After I got past probably the first 20%, I really got into it. Once you fully understand the NA vibe with a wolf shifter fantasy twist, the plot gets rolling as the author picks up her steam. I thoroughly enjoyed this book and the depths the author went into to pull the readers in.
We meet Everly who has never really felt like she fits with her family or really her life. When she finds out her grandmother has died and left everything to her, but she has to go live where her grandmother was, she figures, why not. Little does she know she is going to be in for the ride of her life and learn more than she ever thought possible. Let me say, learning and meeting the hunky MMCs in this book are a great way to stay hooked and when you get some steamy scenes, they are worth it. For those that have a problem sticking with it, it’s a slow burn, but worth it, IMO. The character growth over this book alone makes me want to see where the next one goes, along with solving the overall plot issue!
Go pick up this one if you want the following tropes: wolf shifter, reverse harem, slow burn, fated mates, mate circle, wolf packs, darkness, fae, paranormal, touch her and die
Everly, 18, inherits her grandmother's house and shop and moves to a new town. After much self talk and mental tribulations she finally shifts into a wolf and accepts her three mates. Unfortunately, there exists an evil shadow creature who infects innocents. It falls to her to defeat the evil. This volume was free on Amazon, the next require actual payment before reading. If they were unlimited, I might continue the series, but maybe not even then. There are spelling and other errors. What really bothered me was I found it too drawn out and boring. I never really felt a spark between the characters. Despite the fmc's constant self reflection I never felt I knew or understood her. However, others might enjoy this work, so give it a try.
Got this book for free at a stuff your kindle day event and glad I did. Original take on a shifter series. Great story so far. Strong MFC & 3 Hot Sexy Alphas. I'm enjoying this original take on a shifter storyline. Love RH stories, but this is the first one I've read by this author and found the writing really good. The only thing that has disappointed me so far is the spice in book1. Although it's an RH, extremely slow burn between the FC & her 3 guys. There's really no sex until the end of book 1 and it was pretty tame. That being said, I'm looking forward to the second book and hopefully a 5 chili pepper blast of heat. 🤞🏻
This book has a rating that I believe is too high; there’s no way it deserves three stars. The beginning was promising, but when I first encountered one of the main male characters, he came across as too rude for my taste—especially since he maintains that attitude even after their relationship has solidified. It felt like there were so many opportunities in the plot, particularly with the diverse characters. However, the story just missed the mark for me; there were so many times when I felt a lack of depth and meaningful conversations among the characters. I wasn’t given enough insight into the community, nor were there vivid descriptions of this mystical, magical town.
The best thing i can say about this book is it had decent world building. for a romance tho this was bad . the relationships feel rushed and forced and theres really no actual romance to speak of apart from some poorly written and even more rushed 'spicy' moments. you never really get to know any of the characters apart from a Tiny snippet of the female lead and her family/past sorta and thats Mostly it. for the males she basically gave a slight visual and job description and frankly not Much else.. still its readable thanks to the world building so its not completely horrible even if i feel like i wasted my time on this one... 1.5/5
The writing seems a little juvenile, however, the plot line seems interesting and I'm looking forward to seeing where this series goes. There is definitely not a lot meat and potatoes to this book, not to mention she doesn't really make any relatable characters, or at least I don't think she does. It’s kind of hard to tell since she doesn't give any back stories to the characters, other than the FMC with her never ending inner monologues. Regardless of this, l can't DNF a series or book so I'm hoping the next few books show more character building because this series has potential.
I do not have much to say about this book. It was an entertaining read, but I just did not connect with any of the characters, and the plot just felt pretty rushed. The MC bothered me at time, but it wasn’t anything big enough for me to DNF the book.
I will not be moving onto the next book in the series. I just don’t really care enough about the plot or the characters really for me to get through the rest of the series.
I’ve had so many emotions while reading this book that I don’t know how I feel about but I did stay up till 3am finishing this book (with lots of mini breaks in between pages) It was slightly different than the regular wolf shifter reverse harem romance book here the FML comes into the supernatural world without knowing of wolf shifters or the supernatural world all together that I usually read and I like it.
This was an engaging reverse harem shifter story that starts a serial I'd read set at Wolf Lake. I liked the characters: Everly who inherited her grandmother's house and tea and bookshop and her three mates, and the story was interesting to read as Everly wonders why the shop gets wads of money in letters sent to it and more. There's twist and turns, action, drama and steamy romance in this copy I'd received and volunteer to read and review.
The story was very good. I do feel like the author described some mundane things too much, for example she didn't need to give turn by turn directions for going to the bank or care facility. She could have just said she got the directions and that be that.. its a made up town... but other then stuff like that I really enjoyed it.
I love wolf shifters! I really liked the world created in this one. I don’t like that Everly has 3 fated mates but I see how it’s meant for the storyline. Glenn and Blade a great guys. If it was me though, I’d have her pick Hunter and be done with it lol. He’s my favorite. Sounds like there’s more to come for them.
Evelyn was done her mum was a drunk her mum's boyfriend came into her room and told her how much prettier she was and lucky kind of she got the news her grandma had passed and left her her business and house so she was going there but what she found was not real it couldn't be or could it be
2.5 The concept of this was a fun idea, book shop, danger, and romance! But unfortunately, it wasn't executed very well. The pacing of the story was so rushed towards the end, which left it feeling very underdeveloped, and the element of the story to build the tension didn't work.
Her grandma died, she was send to town that's unknown. Her grandma left her journal and she learn of new world. Will she accept it or run away? While it ll save other beings, read and enjoy romance
What I like about this is that she was able to find her place in the town with her mates. Even though she was new to everything, she handled everything that crossed her path.
It was ok, I understand it was the set up for the series. I'm undecided if I will get the next one yet as I have a long tbr and this didn't draw me enough not to consider those reads ahead of this series.
Little tame and lacking in description. I think the concept is okay but it just left me wanting more so that I could develop more clear pictures in my head. This is a mild spice read with a lot of under-developed potential.
This was a good, short read. Some parts seemed very slow, and there were some grammatical errors. Otherwise, it's a great book if you are looking for a quick shifter read.
I was initially unsure about this book. I loved the first 2/3 of it thought, and was pleasantly surprised. However, I felt that it kind of dropped off in the final third and I didn't enjoy it so much.
oh man, all the questions were making me nuts lol. I kept thinking ok keep edging Everly with the secrets but I need to know now lol I really like the characters here and I'm interested to see what happens next.
