Jim Moore's warm, conversational style inspires readers to transform negative, pessimistic attitudes into positive, optimistic attitudes centered on the love and hope of Jesus Christ. The book includes a study guide designed for both group and individual use, features questions related to each chapter and presents several options for study based on varied numbers of weeks devoted to the study. The chapter titles are: 1 - The Attitude of Gratittude 2 - The Attitude of Compassion 3 - The Attitude of Confidence 4 - The Attitude of Determination 5 - The Attitude of Humility 6 - The Attitude of Perseverance 7 - The Attitude of Open-mindedness 8 - The Attitude of Joy 9 - The Attitude of Faith 10 - The Attitude of Trust 11 - The Attitude of Commitment 12 - The Attitude of Ownership 13 - The Attitude of Hope
I am not a big fan of this author. This is the second of his books I've read -- only because my Sunday School class was using them for a study -- and just like the other one ("The Top Ten List for Christians"), this reads like a sermon series that he decided to put in book form. His basic premises are sound, but in fleshing them out he has very little original thought to add. He likes to sprinkle in "amusing anecdotes" that he's probably collected over the years whether or not they really fit. Plus it is really dated. I'm hoping this is the last book of his I have to read.
Moore not only has a catchy title, he has some good writing the back up the title. We used this book in our Sunday School class and enjoyed it very much. It could also be used by study groups if desired. There are excellent questions in the back on each chapter for further discussion. We enjoyed it.
