LynnMarie's Review
I was very excited to review Mating Call after reading the first book in the Black Wolf Gorge series, Call of the Wilds. Gale Stanley's writing does not disappoint. She expertly pulls you into the world she creates and keeps you there. I was a bit worried that this series moved into ménage territory, but even though it is clear that this author is new to ménage, it was successfully done.
Sable is captured by two hunters that are known for their hate towards wolves after animals killed their family. The two unrefined brothers can't help but be attracted to the dark-haired beauty, even though they see her as more animal than woman.
Being in heat, Sable can't resist the men, even if they are keeping her trapped against her will. Hot threesome sex is the result, and it certainly was hot! Initially, I felt Sable and Jonas developing a connection, but that was soon lost as Sable and Jude grew closer.
I enjoyed Sable's character. In the first book, she was the villain, but redeemed herself in this edition, becoming likeable and sympathetic. I had issues with the brothers, especially Jonas. I couldn't quite believe the love connection between them. Jude, who started out in an unfavorable light, became very sympathetic as he fell in love with the Lycan-mixed woman.
For an engaging, sexy read about a beautiful shifter and the two rustic men that capture her heart, get a copy of Gale Stanley's new book, Mating Call.
