When Tom went to a dance club with his friends, he wasn't looking for love. What he found was a sexy young male dancer who turns his life inside out.
Tom's never had a male lover but when he meets Cameron he can't get him out of his mind. Tom wants Cameron badly, but is it for more than just one night?
Jack Greene loathes author bios, thinking they ruin the mystery. But if you must, picture a handsome twenty-something insomniac: junior partner in a law firm by day, guitarist in a punk band by night. He roams the streets on his Ducati when he can't sleep, gathering material for his books, and watches the sun come up over West Hollywood as he types away at his laptop. Peace only comes when he writes the words "the end".
Jack writes about men who fuck, and love, other men. Men who, like all men, sometimes don't behave like they should.
I first read this one in March of 2011, but decided to do a quick reread. Tom is out with friends and as luck would have it, they end up somewhere they hadn't actually planned on, and Tom's initial annoyance changes when he sees a vision dancing so erotically and Tom is instantly taken with this dancer. Imagine his surprise when it's a him dancing and not a her . His panic subsides and as the week goes on he knows he can't get the man out of his head. This is a short story, but I liked it, Tom really accepts his attraction to Cameron quickly and relatively easily, no angst and drama there. He also shows the slightly jaded Cameron that he isn't like all the other guys, he wants more from him. Cameron expects Tom to just walk away and not look back, but walking away isn't what Tom wants at all. I would have liked more of these two..
This book has the common trait of physical characteristic in two of other Jack Greene's stories I read: an effeminate, pretty and slender character. BUT, I enjoy this story better than the other two (even though they're also entertaining read). I think the setting in which Tom and Cameron meets -- how Cameron dances with his lithe body against a pole, tantalizing Tom -- is HOT.
I love their chemistry. I love how Tom doesn't become a jerk and contemplating whether his attraction to Cameron is wrong. Even when he finds out that Cameron is a guy, not a sexy girl dancer. In fact, he just accepts it, and even goes to prove to Cameron that he is different than the other guys Cameron have been with. The flowers is lovely as well as the dinner date. I love these guys and smile contently at the promise of an HEA.
I think I will try to read more stories from Jack Greene. I kind of enjoy his stories.
When Tom goes to a dance club with his friends he sees and becomes fascinated with a beautiful cage-dancing girl. But to his surprise when he gets a closer look he discovers that the beautiful girl is really a gorgeous, and totally sexy, guy. But Tom's straight, right? How can he be attracted to a guy? Deciding to just go with the flow he ends up in bed with Cameron. Will this be a one time thing or has Tom discovered a new direction in his life?
This was an entertaining story that kept me engaged from beginning to end. I liked both of the protagonists and their developing relationship was fun and interesting to read. The sex scenes are hot but it was the sweet moments between Tom and Cameron that hooked me. I did find Tom's sudden and very easy turn to the 'gay side' a bit unbelievable but overall it worked for this short story.
Short, quick read full of just the right stuff. Cameron is a dancer who likes dressing in women's clothing, dancing and having sex with straight guys. Tom is a straight man who finds himself obsessing over Cameron, even when he finds out Cam is all male. Their coming together is hot; the start of their dating is sweet and the two are wonderful together.
Merged review:
This delicious little short was recommended to me and definitely hit the right spots. Cameron is confident is most all aspects of his life, but not used to tenderness, dating and someone caring for him, not just his body, the way he dresses, how he dances, or the pleasure he gives. Tom finds he loves the whole package, mini-skirts, nail polish and make-up.
Talk about sizzling chemistry between the characters... Tom & Cameron were the perfect match. Their story was a great combination of undeniable attraction, hot sexy times & tenderness. So far I have read 3 books by Jack Greene & I'm not able to choose my favorite couple. They all are great & unique. Well done! Way to go.
Tom goes to a goth club by mistake, and falls in lust with the girl dancing in the cage. Except the girl turns out to be Cameron, who is very much male. Sweet story of how the two come to terms with each other.
Steamy short m/m romance about a straight guy who finds himself unaccountably drawn to a woman dancing in the club Corruption... even after he realizes the woman is actually a twinky boy.
Like any other Jack Greene book, Corruption is a wonderful amalgam of humor, sexiness and romance. Oh and erotic… heaven knows you can’t ignore the eroticism. Honestly, I’ve already read this book three times and I seriously cannot get enough.
Tom is a great guy whose life and everything he knew about himself has been turned upside down, inside out and flung to the winds. But the man is smart and does know himself and he definitely makes the story.
Talk about a coquette! Cameron is—or at least seems to be—so very sure of himself; watching as he further entrances Tom is a wonderful and libidinous thing. It’s a sure thing that he’s never met anyone like Tom before…but the same is true of Tom; he’s never, ever come across anyone like Cameron.
What I liked best, though, was Tom…never let it be said that he was going to be predictable. And so goes Jack Greene’s gem of a story, Corruption. Does this count as a ‘gay for you’ story? Uh yeah! Or maybe, just maybe, it’s not as GFY as you might think.
But you’ll have to read it to find out for yourself, because this is a story that any fan of m/m romance—HEA (happily ever after) or HFN (happy for now)—will enjoy. I just know it.
Tom and his friends plan to go out to 80's night but end up in a goth/industrial club. Tom sees a dancer in a cage and thinks she's gorgeous. When he finally sees her face, ack! she's a he. He freaks as he's never been attracted to men before and runs, but he can't get the guy out of his head and goes back the next week. This time he guy comes up to him and says he likes straight guys and takes him home. It's amazing, but the guy is used to straight guys who never call back (duh, that's what happens when you sleep with straight guys) but Tom is determined to show Cameron he's different. He finds out where he works and sends him flowers, takes him out for dinner and reveals his feelings. This runs very close to the insta-love line, they both admit to almost love after seeing each other twice in 2 weeks and Tom is pretty open after his initial freak-out to being with a guy. However the sex scenes were hot and for a little short it was good.
Tom goes out to the clubs with friends to relax. Expecting the club to be 80's themed, they instead walk into what appears to be a goth themed night. The boys decide to stay and it's there that Tom sees and is immediately attracted to a female cage dancer. The only problem with this is that as Tom gets closer to the cage dancer, he discovers the dancer he thought was a female from afar is actually a very attractive male.
A lovely steamy read. Tom and Cameron were adorable together and the chemistry was sizzling. It was nice getting the POV from both characters and really helped readers to understand the logic behind their actions. The story was very descriptive for a short read and made it really easy to imagine the MC's and the goings on in the story. In fact while reading some of the sex scenes I thought all the heat pouring off my face would crack my glasses.
Normally when I read a M/M story, I like the characters to be a bit more manly. A gay guy that could pass as a girl doesn't quite do it for me but I did end up liking this story. I liked the fact that Tom had never been with a man before and I think Cameron being so pretty definitely helped Tom admit to the fact that he was attracted to a man. Overall I liked the book. It wasn't some big novel and basically just covered Tom and Cameron meeting and getting together. I liked their relationship and I liked both main characters. I would read another book from this author.
I am glad that this is not a HFN or make your own ending type of short story. Characters are well developed that we can see Tom is thinking long term in terms of Cameron. So yes, the two end up. I love pretty twinky boys and someone as nice as Cameron deserves a nice guy who loves him back and will treat him right.
Hope JG makes an expanded version or at least shows us a full blown happy ending. Would love to read about Cameron and Tom again.
I had never herd of this one but when I was sitting and Reading about Talk Dirty To MeI had suddenly clicked my way to Corrution as a free read on scribd and since it was short and the childen were sleeping I read it right there.
A sweet gay for you story with a pretty dancer and a up to this day straight man. Short and nice.
I just love romantic fantasies about effeminate men and this is an entertaining one. If you are looking for a realistic contemporary story this is not it, but if you just want to read a fun story starring a very pretty, eye-liner wearing, cage dancer then give this book a try.
hot, sweet, gay-for-you, but without more than a night's angst about it. written well enough, plotted well, paced well, even edited well, but too short, too shallow for me because i couldn't get to care about the characters. first book for me by this author, will try more.
This was nice. In the beginning, I felt the story had more potential, but not bad. The first scene was so hot: when Tom eyefucks Cameron, while he's dancing in the cage.
This is the kind of smutty MM Romance I look for: a "straight" hot guy falling for an androgynous guy, thinking at first he is a she, only to to be disappointed after figuring out the truth and running away, only to have days and nights of being obsessed and coming back. I love that Tom was always respectful towards Cameron, liked him for who he was (flamboyant but completely male) and how, after that first hot night together, he tried to be "different" to make an impression on Cameron.
I also love when 2 guys that weren't looking for anything are just crazy for each other 🔥. So yes, starts as a smut but it ends in a romance ❤️
I wish this was a proper, lengthy novel! 😖 If I had to say a negative thing, besides that it is short, is that I wish Tom prepared Cameron before doing it.. he didn't even stretch him 😖, they just go straight to the point 😓

Okay-no filter for this one guys and I mean no disrespect to the author at all-but the book? This is probably one of the worst books I've ever read-if it can be called a book at all. The sample was good and then...SPLAT! Horrible writing and comical 2D chemistry, absolutely horrible sex scenes (2) that read like bad porn written by someone with an idea of what a corny porn vid would sound like-but somehow wrote it even worse. This made me cringe and snort in humor at the same time-you know: a joke so corny and bad it's funny. I am not a mean reviewer but SERIOUSLY!? A waste of money-I would not recommend this even if it was a free fanfic-and you know how bad those can get! Yeesh-this is a freakin' harsh review but I needed to get it out unfiltered. If this is still your thing regardless of what I'm saying go for it-to each their own.
Really good, short novella. Tom is a straight boy out on the town clubbing w/ friends, while partying he sees the hottest girl he's ever seen dancing in a cage. There's a problem, cage-dancing Cameron is not a girl. Loved it.
