Well, yeah, it's a collection of photographs of abandoned refrigerators on the streets of New Orleans post-Katrina, and yet to dismiss it as that misses the careful genius of Varisco's usage of the government's language on food safety on the opposite pages. In tight closeups and tilted designs, he skew(er)s the gov-speak designed to provide safe food with the decidedly unsafe food contained in the fridges. This is a book, designed to be read as such, and to skim past the design of the book misses the point.
Um. It's a booklet of about 12-20 photos of different refrigerators, mostly spray-painted with a sassy word or two about bush, katrina, fema, or the rotting stench within. That's all. It's about enough for a blog post but not a whole book, in my opinion.
I thought spoiled was a very detailed book. It left me always wanting to read more and more. Spoiled showed current events other authors don't right about. Overall great book!!
