Rate this book
Sometimes it seems that the youngest students have the most questions. The Scholastic First Encyclopedia series, now available in a paperback format, is still the resource to which these children can turn. Designed with the earliest readers in mind, these vibrantly illustrated books contain easy-to-understand text that provides the answers to the questions kids have about the world. With all the standard reference tools such as an index, glossary, and well-labeled diagrams, the First Encyclopedias go a step further. Every detail has been carefully designed for very young children. Kids will use standard research features, but in a simplified format that will make finding information a snap! In particular, the unique cross-referencing system makes it easy for any child to find additional information on a topic. How Things Work covers all the basic questions a young child may have about the who, what, why, and especially the how of everyday things.

This was an interesting book explaining how each object works and how each object were made with a purpose. I wouldn't read this book in one seating in class, but I'd like to read a page a day in class maybe at the end of the day so the children can have a interesting fact home to tell their family and friends everyday.
