A good history of a dark period in the development of the U.S.

Note: Joshua Giddings was an out-spoken abolitionist in a time where discussions surrounding slavery were subject to gag rules.

I enjoyed this book, which covered the history of the Second Seminole War and how slaves and black people in Florida and within the Seminole tribe were critical to understanding the causes of war. I will be using this source to understand the Second Seminole War, its failures, and the relation to slavery.
