From a Victorian point of view, sexual lust and evil are almost synonymous, and that is nowhere more evident than in the potent mythical figure of the vampire. The vampires in these erotic, spellbinding stories play many some are feared more than the most trusted partners in S/M play, some are adored as even the most fleeting of one-night lovers are fondly remembered, and some are desired because they represent the wildest sexual ecstasy, seemingly out of reach — forever. Still, others are worshipped as dark redeemers whose mercy is as compelling as heaven's in a seemingly godless age. Vampires remind readers of their darkest sexual desires, the sexual experiences they've had (perhaps only in their own minds), and the sex that satiates their deepest primal urges.
I truly rate this book as 2.5 stars. As with Blood Surrender, I'm an objective reader, not an author or involved with the publication of this book (unlike other reviewers on Amazon), so I'm doing my best to give a fair review. I found the first story in this collection, "Mist Kisses" by Renee Charles, to be creative and among the best written, told by 22-year-old Johannes, whose mother was human and father a vampire. Johannes is ironically a vampire-hunter who meets gorgeous Tia, a photographer soliciting, 'Model (male) for experimental folklore photo fantasy series', who of course has much more to her than meets the eye. The other stories are graphically sexual and often violent, as the back cover clearly details, so if you find that offensive or are just not a fan of erotica, this book is also NOT meant for you.
An ok anthology of vampire erotica, some good and some not so good stories.
Since I don't normally write reviews unless I have something specific to say, here's the break down of how I rate my books...
1 star... This book was bad, so bad I may have given up and skipped to the end. I will avoid this author like the plague in the future.
2 stars... This book was not very good, and I won't be reading any more from the author.
3 stars... This book was ok, but I won't go out of my way to read more, But if I find another book by the author for under a dollar I'd pick it up.
4 stars... I really enjoyed this book and will definitely be on the look out to pick up more from the series/author.
5 stars... I loved this book! It had earned a permanent home in my collection and I'll be picking up the rest of the series and other books from the author ASAP.
uggg... I did alot of skipping around in this book. It is a collection of short stories (well caling them "short stories" is giving it too much credit) they were poorly imagined and I waited to hear cheep music from a low budget porn in the background.
Erotica Vampirica is a compilation of erotic short stories. The title is misleading because while most of the stories are about vampires; shapeshifters and incubi/succubi are included. The last section of the book is also dedicated to werewolves. One of my favourite Pagan authors Raven Kaldera has three stories included in this collection. All good ones. His fictional stories are just as good as his non-fiction. Drink to Me Only with Thine Eyes and A Moment in Time were the only stories that I found to be boring so I skipped them after reading a couple pages. Overall, well thought out characters and plots with sexual situations. Not very different from the urban fantasy or science-fiction just more in depth descriptions. "Supernatural" creatures don't see gender or orientation so many of these characters are gay, lesbian, bisexual, or trans. All the stories in the werewolf section were garbage.
