Ah, la dure loi de la jungle ! Bébé babouin orphelin, Baboon est adopté par la femelle léopard qui a tué sa mère... Elle l'élève comme son petit et un véritable amour filial né entre eux. Hélas, la léopard meurt à son tour et Baboon est désormais livré à son sort. Ni vraiment léopard, ni seulement babouin, il rejoint un clan de singes qui lui mènent la vie dure. Lorsqu'il croise le regard de la princesse babouin, il sait qu'il sera prêt à tout pour qu'elle aime... Même à apprendre le kung-fu, à sortir les griffes et à combattre férocement tout animal qui osera s'en prendre à elle !

A wordless graphic novel about a baboon raised by a leopard. Eventually he rediscovers the troop he was stolen from and must fight his way back in to become a member. Pau packs a ton of emotion into his art. I found myself getting all veklempt in a couple spots. He adds just enough cartoonishness at times to his realistic art to drive home his point. A gripping, quick read.

Bylo nebylo kdesi v savaně se odehrává příběh, který by se dal přirovnat ke kombinaci Tarzan a Karate Tiger. Příběh začíná dvěmi zvířecími tragédiemi, které vyústily v neobvyklý jev - paviána vychovaného gepardicí. Ale ani odvaha a gepardí výchova nemusí stačit k začlenění se do paviání tlupy a k poražení alfa-samce a soka v lásce. Ještě že existují staré malpy, které vás mohou naučit kung-fu.
Autorem knihy je Pau (Pau Rodríguez Jiménez-Bravo). Tento španělský autor z Mallorcy je mimo jiné autorem komiksu Sága o Atlasovi a Axis (La saga d'Atlas et Axis). Pro tuto knihu nemohl dlouho najít vydavatele. Díky publikaci na Patreonu se Baboon dostal až k polskému vydavatelství Timof, které jej nakonec i vydalo. Příběh Baboona je docela jednoduchý a v kombinaci s kresbou vhodný vhodný i pro malé děti. Pobaví ale i dospělé. Kresba zvířat není realistická, ale je mimořádně milá. Pro potřeby dramatičnosti a jednoznačnosti zvířata dost přehrávají. Při zobrazování emocí jim kolem hlavy naskakují srdíčka, z očí jim stříkají slzy a po chlupech jim teče pot (je to blbost, ale ve vyprávění to funguje). V bublinách jsou pak obrázky toho, na co myslí. Kniha je brožovaná a má 120 stran.

Once Upon a Time in somewhere in the savannah a story unfolds. That story could be compared to a combination of Tarzan and Karate Tiger. The story begins with two animal tragedies that resulted in an unusual phenomenon - a baboon raised by cheetah. But even courage and cheetah education may not be enough to integrate young baboon into the baboon's troop and defeat the alpha baboon and rival in love. Thanks gods there are old malpas that can teach you kung-fu.
The author of the the book is Pau (Pau Rodríguez Jiménez-Bravo). This Spanish author from Mallorca created also comic book Saga about Atlas and Axis (La saga d'Atlas et Axis). Pau could not find a publisher for this book for a long time. After publication in Patreon Baboon got to the Polish publishing house Timof who published it as book. Baboon's story is quite simple and with Pau's art it's suitable for small children. But it's funny for adult also. Animals are not realistic but art is very nice. For the needs of storytelling there are illustrated emotions - little hearts are jumping around animal heads, tears splash from their eyes and big drops of sweat flows on their fur. Bubbles contain pictures of what animals are thinking. The book is paperback and has 120 pages.

For me if you read this and don't love it you are not a comic book fan.It's amazing!This single book is very good example of how comic medium can able to tell wonderful stories,what is comic book,what is storytelling!

Its like B-Movie but with Jeff Smith's art.Tells serious story vengeance,love,fight back to rightful spot in the family but with this style of art its perfect than ever.
