Tanya, a small town beauty consultant/fairy godmother is dragged into tinsel town by her godfather/uncle to star in a reality make-over show. Enter AJ, jaded Hollywood producer. She is a breath of fresh air for AJ and his staff. Tanya learns from them and gains confidence in herself. This is their journey of creating the show from audition to premiere night and from adversaries to lovers. This follows a straight forward arc for both with plenty of sparks and interesting repartee that will keep you reading. Love the very entertaining cast of supporting characters.

An adorable quick read. Tanya is just such a character. She is fun and sarcastic and just the kind of girl you would want to be friends with. AJ is sweet. I wouldn't say he is a favorite lead alpha but he is sweet and charming and the books is great.

This is a great book to have hanging around for the time you need a book to grab, enjoy and be done with.

I really enjoyed this romp of a read. It was light and quick and really suitable for a day when you just want something light and entertaining. It read almost like one of those old movies - lots of sparring and witty dialogue, as well as an engaging hero and heroine. Fast paced and well written, I would read Trish Jensen again.

I *really* enjoyed this book. It looks like it's a re-release, but it sure didn't read that way. Not dated in the least. (and 2006 vs. 2013 is quite a difference imo)

Tanya is from Sonora, a town with which I'm well acquainted. I grew up in a similar town closer to the coast of California. I could almost picture Tanya's salon - the description of the ladies getting pampered was so vivid that I felt like I knew them even though we only see them for a few pages.

AJ, Frank and Denny were all pretty hilarious in their interactions. Both amongst themselves, and with Tanya. Although Sharyn was only in a few parts of the story, she made an impression.

Tanya and AJ had one thing in common - neither of them wanted to do "Pretty Women", a reality show about makeovers. AJ had been there, and done that. He had a script he wanted to get into production, and when Frank used that desire as bait, AJ simply couldn't say no. It didn't mean he had to like it.

Tanya had her own demons to wrestle. Living up to her family's expectations was a big one. Now if that would only spur her to get over her fear of public speaking - maybe she could actually make them all happy. It didn't hurt that the premise was something she could get behind. Making over normal people that wanted a drastic change but were headed in the wrong direction. *THAT* she could do.

AJ and Denny didn't know the asset they'd get when Tanya stepped behind her scissors. The trouble started when she noticed the cameras were turned on. But Tanya's Gram had an idea. She saw sparks between the two, and knew if AJ could distract her, she'd up her game.

So the sparring began. Barbs flew left and right, and Tanya gave as good as she got. AJ found himself throwing himself into his job because arguing and subsequently watching Tanya was the highlight of his day.

So what happens when he can't help wanting to be around her after the set went dark? You'll have to read it and find out for yourself!

Hilarious rom com that's a perfect summer read

Behind the Scenes is a hilarious novel about the vagaries of Hollywood. This behind-the-scenes look at a beauty makeover reality television show, to be hosted the self-effacing Tanya Pierce, who just happens to be the niece of one of the network’s executives. The show’s reluctant producer, AJ, doesn’t want anything to do with this niece and distrusts all women thanks to his greedy ex-wife. But put AJ and Tanya together and all sorts of things start to occur, including a budding reluctant romance. The combination of a fun story with Trish Jensen’s fabulous deft hand at dialogue and humor make this book is a winner! Perfect for your beach-friendly eReader.

I so want to be Tanya when I grow up! She’s sassy and smart, with a sweet big ol’ heart. I love her with AJ as she gets him to remember his faith in people and his enjoyment of life. The fantastically fun banter between the two made me laugh (a lot) and I absolutely loved watching them fall head over heels.

A light-hearted story, Behind the Scenes is an amusing and fast read, with realistic interactions between its adorable characters and a straight-forward, entertaining story-line. It’s the perfect choice for romance readers who love a good rom-com and that squishy happy ending feeling.

This was my second book that I've read by Trish Jensen, and I picked it up because you always know what you're getting into with one of Trish's stories.

Zero angst, no drama, and a cute story that gives you the warm fuzzies. Is it my favorite? No. Will it win awards? Probably not. But it was lighthearted, fun, and a nice and quick read.
