An exploration of Hebrew roots, shorashim, that draws from a a wide range of sources--biblical and Rabbinic texts, contemporary authors, and a diverse collection of Israeli newspapers, advertising slogans, slang and graffiti.
This is a wonderful book! Be forewarned, however, that it is a very LONG book, not a quick and easy read about Hebrew. At over 200 pages, with each chapter consisting of only two pages, you are getting research on 100 or so Hebrew roots in a conversational format. Lots of information! Made me want to read the author's other books.
