This book starts out very...lovey-dovey in the beginning. The main characters, Ellie and Michael, have just found out that they play massive roles in the end of the world. In a sorry attempt to stave off the end of the world, they resolve not to speak of their other natures, believing that their understanding and active talking about their "other selves" may be the catalyst that starts the clock that will end the world.

It's almost too much. Michael continuously writes love notes to Ellie, calling her "My Ellie" and whatnot. There is a point where this gets grating...although it is sweet in the beginning. Ellie responds in kind, just as loving. It is clear that the main characters love each other; however, it is an immature love. Michael is quick to accuse Ellie of cheating when he finds out that she has been hanging around Rafe, a student with some special powers of his own that she meets at a school stadium. Rafe and Ellie work together on a project dedicated to bringing relief to the volcano victims (for the reader's edification, the volcano was a sign of the end of the world).

Rafe and Ellie do have an immediate connection. Ellie feels safe and happy in Rafe's presence...unfortunately, their romance is over before it has a chance to start due to Rafe's otherworldly nature and the commitment Ellie and Michael must make to each other.

During this whole time when Ellie is off with Rafe, Michael is busy being angry and haughty. He becomes a bit of a star due to his football prowess...partly because he uses his powers on the field. Michael's newfound obsession with football is partly what drives Ellie and Michael apart and what brings them back together in a "final reckoning."

The novel was pretty good, but a bit of a letdown after the terrific first novel in this series. The plot could have been developed a bit more, the characters seemed a little...off, but the events were fast-paced and exciting to read about. Overall, this novel is recommended to readers who enjoy young adult fantasy and romance.

ETERNITY is book 2 of the Fallen Angel series so make sure you snag and read FALLEN ANGEL before you pick this up or you might be a little lost. One of thing that really annoyed me about the beginning of the book is that the first 2 chapters of ETERNITY was just a really drawn out version of the last chapter of FALLEN ANGEL and i felt it was really boring the second time around. Ellie learned and dealt with a lot of things in book 1 and continues to deal with the same things in book 2 to try to stop the evil fallen angels from destroying the world. I honestly cant begin to think of the feelings I have towards Michael. He seems to be way to easily influenced and used and it honestly just got to be to much to have to watch Ellie go through the same stuff as FALLEN ANGEL. I don't thing there will be another book as the ending seemed to wrap everything up but if by chance there is I hope he will have a better knightly role then in the past. I really did enjoy watching Ellie grow into her role as the Elect One. It wasn't super easy for her which made the story better and she had some help from a great new character that I enjoyed learning about. I read both books back to back and I enjoyed FALLEN ANGEL a little more then ETERNITY. I honestly don't think I would read another book if it came out in the series as it just didn't seem to grab me like I wanted it too but I think any fan of YA angel mythology books might enjoy the series.

In some ways I liked Eternity better and worse than Fallen Angel, the first book in the series.
There was plenty of action, and things that kept me turning the pages, I wasn't sure of who to trust and anxious to see how things would turn out. I still really liked Ellie, and I think that her struggle of maintaining a daily life, and keeping her secret is balanced perfectly. It would be too fake if she didn't have doubts and she didn't have problems.
Michael was a eh point of this book to me. I understand how persuasive the fallen can be, but I feel like some of the points I thought were out of the way from the first book were reiterated, and I really just wanted him to step up more, and see him and Ellie's relationship strengthened.
A very positive point in this story was the addition of the character Rafe. I can't tell too much about him without spoiling, so just suffice it to say that he saved the story for me. He is just what I want in the type of character role he played.
The ending is kind of a question to me. I think that things were wrapped up beautifully even though I do feel like a few of the plot lines were a little rushed in the middle and towards the end. I am not really sure if there is going to be a third book, or where it might pick up if there is.
If you enjoyed Fallen Angels, then I def recommend to pick this book up!

Drama, drama, and more drama. That was all that was in this book. Everything was so dramatic and cheesy. Ellie's relationship with Michael is constantly dramatic. Michael and Ellie's attempts to save the world are so dramatic. Even trying to be a normal teen is dramatic. And then you throw in all the religious stuff. I know this was in the first book, but for some reason it bothered me in this one. And the ending was so anti-climactic. And predictable. I completely pegged what was going to happen.

Michael and Ellie got on my nerves in this book. Michael, once again, got distracted by something and flaked on Ellie. And Ellie once again got swept up in a new guy, quickly, although not seriously. So my fav characters this time around were Rafe and Ruth. I loved how Ruth was so understanding of the strange life she was suddenly thrown into and was so eager and willing to help out, even though it might put her in danger. And I liked the sound of Rafe. Of his looks and sense of humor and intensity.

This review makes me sounds grumpy and like I didn't enjoy the book, which isn't the case. Broken down, things bugged me about it but overall, I flew through the book and enjoyed it while I was reading it.

I decided since I had not unhauled this book as the box is still sitting in my closet waiting to be donated to the community that I would pick it back up and finish it since I was about 1/3 of the way through.
It was just Meh for me.
Do I regret picking it back up? Maybe just a little.
It was just okay for me.
How do I say this story will not stay around in my mind.
Does Ellie grow into her Elect position?
Does Ellie help the good fallen angels against the bad?
Why do I dislike Michael so much?
Either way I would say you either enjoy it and or not so much.
However I will read other books by this author.

Disappointing ending

I wish it didn't end so abruptly. We didn't get to have other characters complete their part. Good series just would have liked a little more "after"

Kurzbeschreibung

Danach passiert wenigstens ein bisschen was.

After finding out she is the byproduct of a fallen angel and a human and that her parents aren't actually her parents, Ellspeth "Ellie" Faneuil in the first book, Fallen Angel, she is trying to come to terms with her family tree. Not mention the fact that she is prophesied to be the Elect One -- an all powerful Nephilim that will determine the outcome of the war between evil Fallen Angels and the good Fallen angels. She is to be the half-human, half-angel savior of the world.

If I can say one thing about Ellie, it is that she is consistent. She is without a doubt the heroine -- the good one. However, I have yet to see the Elect One make an appearance. Ellie hasn't done anything badass -- in the name of good, of course -- yet and I do so look forward to it. And being the one being on earth that will determine the fate of mankind -- salvation or destruction -- I'd say that is a badass job description. So, where in the Hell -- pun intended, hehe -- is her badassness. Yeah, I said it. BADASSNESS. (Please, Terrell, do not let Ellie's title as the Elect One be all bark and no bite.)

On that note, YA authors know we teen reads bibliophiles do love a book that pulls on our romantic heartstrings. And Heather Terrell does manage that with a brewing love triangle in Eternity. In Fallen Angel, Michael Chase-- the all American football player and fellow nephillim -- and Ellie are perfect together and we all jump up and down with glee. But in Eternity, we're on cockblocking duty when it comes to Michael. Getting comfortable with his powers, talent and high school football stardom, it starts going to his head and Michael transforms into a "Michael" Ellie doesn't recognize. To put it plainly: he was pissing me the hell off! And Ellie, in love as she is, puts up with his crap. Insert Rafe Gregory. The mysterious but compassionate volunteer fundraiser for earthquake victims with a secret of his own.

TeamRafeTeamRafeTeamRafe . . . Sorry Mikey Boy but Rafe is sexy as all hell!

Is it no wonder that whomever holds the key to Ellie's heart also holds the key to the fate of the human race? So who, Michael or Rafe, will be the salvation or the destruction of mankind as we all know it? D-Day is soon approaching and Ellie must make her epic decision that will have consequences to last an eternity.

Unfortunately, I have to say, I was a disappointed with this book. Having enjoyed Fallen Angel , I was sad that Eternitydidn't hold up to my expectations. It left much to be desired.

I'm finally finishing off my to-reads list. Eternity is another notch finished, and I'm thankful that I didn't forget anything about the previous book, Fallen Angel. Some background information about Eternity: It is the second book in the series. It follows Fallen Angel, and yes, there are actually angels and fallen angels (no demons, though) in the book.

Eternity may be the last book in the two-book series, but it doesn't give off that vibe. The entire plot is condensed and squished. Annoyingly. I must add that everything has been rushed, and that the ending isn't very satisfying as it could had been. (Of course, I have to blame Susan Ee for writing such a wonderful character named Raffe). (I'm still not over World After!). Anyway, Eternity has the plot of two books jammed into one.

Not so pretty.

Ellie may be the Elect One, but she still has the hormones and personality of a teenage half-angel and half-human. (Awkward moment when I realized I accidently typed "half-angle" instead of half-angel). There are a lot of relationship problems with Michael. Ellie is even more stressed out with the new "love" problem with Rafe. Plus, the end of the world is coming by and Revelations might happen... so... Kudos!

Good thing is that the conflict is easy enough to follow. There isn't an overwhelming number of problems, and the book is easy to understand. But there are some parts of the book where parts and pieces of dialogue (and sections of chapters) don't fit in. I ask myself what the point is of those parts, and I shrug. I'm clueless. Most of those particular parts I'm talking about aren't relevant to the plot in one way or another. (I guess it is a YOLO from the author?).

The ending leaves me wondering. I know that there is a strong farewell (but I won't explain from whom) and I know that they are finished, but seriously? There is something bittersweet about these two (obviously, Ellie is half of the duo), and I'm so disappointed. I mean, they have such good chemistry, and I'm like... swooning.

Overall, Eternity is a speedy ending to the series. There are some kinks to work out, and there is definitely something blocking it from being its full potential. Some parts of the book turns out to be served only as plot devices (and by "parts," I mean characters). Anyway, Eternity isn't that bad, but I just don't like how unnecessary and short some sections are.

Rating: Three out of Five

I had a really hard time getting into this book for the simple fact that the first book in the series didn't wow me enough to keep the story fresh and memorable. I struggled to remember what had happened in the first book to make sense of what was going on in this one. After a few chapters though, the puzzle started coming together better and I started to remember bits and pieces of the previous book.

The book starts out shortly after the previous one ended. Ellie is back home and needs to keep up the pretense of not knowing everything that she discovered in the previous book. She isn't sure who remembers and who was forced to forget so she puts up her walls of defense and goes about her day as a normal teenage girl. When she realizes that Michael remembers everything as well, they agree to keep it quiet so the Fallen are unable to track them. Enlisting the help of Ellie's best friend Ruth, they try and figure out the seven signs of the end of the world in hopes of figuring out their roles in the coming fight.

Michael has been changing lately and Ellie can't figure out why he isn't acting like the boy she fell in love with. When Ellie is introduced to Rafe at a school fundraiser, she feels herself attracted to him but not in a romantic way. Sure he is cute and caring, but she knows her heart lies with Michael. When Rafe exposes what he really is to Ellie and Michael, they find themselves training and learning about their roles for the final fight.

The book actually moved at a faster pace than the first book in the series. I found myself reading this book quickly and enjoying the plot of it better this time around. I felt a better connection between Michael and Ellie as well. The prologue gives you a great hint at what is to come in the end, but you will still be pleasantly surprised about it all. The one thing I thought was a little far fetched was how easy it was for Michael and Ellie to defeat some of the Fallen. If they are suppose to be twice as strong as Ellie and Michael, how were they able to take them down so fast and easy?

Overall a great conclusion to the series-- at least I am assuming this is the final book. If you haven't read the previous book in the series though, I recommend you reading it first to avoid confusion. This is one that is definitely not a stand alone novel.

I thoroughly enjoy Heather's writing and I almost missed the sequel in A Fallen Angel Novel series, but thank heavens for my Blackberry.

The only downside to ETERNITY is that it wasn't thick enough but it was full of suspense, drama, heartache, love and action.

From the moment I closed the book on FALLEN ANGEL I have been dying to know how Ellie and Michael's story would carry on, if their parents would be able to "wipe" their memories again and what about Ruth's memory-she's a pretty smart kid if you don't count in her grades :) but most of all I needed to know if Ellie was prepared to take on her role as the elect one.

Heather, brought a lot of drama into ETERNITY and I think that kept me reading-don't get me wrong the book is a page turner but I had to know what was going to happen next and I even carried my book with me to work because I didn't want to miss a second of what was happening in the life of Ellie.

I always thought that Ellie and Michael would have the perfect relationship given that they are destined to be together, as Ezekiel said in FALLEN ANGEL "Knight to his lady" but upon reading the book I got the feeling that, that might not be the case. We see how they needed to act normal but while doing so the relationship took strain and it was harder for them to connect in a way. Add the mystery guy that Ellie meets while trying to save the world which doesn't make it any easier.

I noticed a huge change with Ellie when she accepted who she was and what her destiny would entail and I found that very endearing and reinforced my beliefs in a strong woman doesn't have an age or type. Her relationship with her parents changed as well and with that came a very interesting twist which is explained in a little more detail near the end of the book.

I feared that the ending would not have the conclusion I was so hoping for, Heather in a way also helped feed my fear and left me a little confused along with Ellie when the final pages came into play. I'm left hoping that there will be another book in the series. It just cannot end like that.

With much restraint I have tried to leave out all the juicy bits....

Happy Reading:)

GENRE: YA Paranormal Romance
THEME: Angels
RECEIVED: For Teen Book Scene Tour
BLOG: http://seeingnight.blogspot.com/

REVIEW:
I have such a soft spot for Paranormal Romances that have Angels and Eternity by Heather Terrell just hit all the right buttons. Book two of the Fallen Angel series was brilliantly writing with the right amount of action, romance and the lead Ellie really grows up to make the right decisions.

Ellie is a high school girl with none of the normal high school problems. She finds out that she has a destiny, as the “Elect One” a savor is the wake of a possible apocalypse. With her knight and shinning armor or should I say Angel by her side, Michael, they have to prepare for the unexpected. When a mysterious boy named Rafe appears, Ellie’s relationship wavers when her “boyfriends” mind starts to wander elsewhere with football. She not only has to save mankind from fallen angels who want to start the apocalypse but she as has to save her heart along the way.

I absolutely enjoyed the second book in this series. Terrell really pulled on the emotions of Ellie with not only Michael, but her friend Ruth and parents. Ellie has to make tough decisions and she needs Michael to help her as he’s supposed to be by her side. Unfortunately Michael was a bit frustrating to me and to poor Ellie, who started to feel pretty alone.

I loved the addition of Rafe, he’s such a mystery and he brought a lot of light onto what Ellie had to prepare for. Plus he brought along some jealousy for Michael and great moments with Ellie. I really enjoyed his character so much and I’m hoping Terrell will continue and give us more background about Rafe.

Overall this was a great sequel, the ending was perfect and I’m hoping that Terrell will continue with the Fallen Angels series. The end left me with a bit of a question mark about what will happen next. If you’re a new or old fan, Eternity doesn’t disappoint and it will leave you wanting more.
RECOMMENDATION:

This is a young adult book with everything a paranormal romance fan loves. Romance, Action, Danger and Angels good and bad. Fans of Lauren Kate and Becca Fitzpatrick will love this series.

*bangs head repeatedly against wall*
This book...ugh. I shouldn't have read it. Although I didn't like the first book, Fallen Angel, I decided to read the second book simply because I was only interested in the story about the Fallen Angels' war. I was hoping the story would be something totally different, maybe even surprise me.
I was SO wrong.

I'm just going to do a pro/con list because otherwise I'll be rambling on forever.

Cons:
- The whole story about the war between Fallen Angels and God. It was so unconvincing. I read that the author actually got the idea from researching, and while I don't know much about the Bible or what's in it, I thought the idea was cool. But the way the author wrote it made it sound like a huge mess. It made God sound like some villain. Like, why couldn't God help Ellie out on what she was suppose to do? And why was he so harsh with the Fallen Angels when they interacted with the humans? His secrets actually helped the humans, didn't they? Also, apparently things like war, currency, etc came from the Fallen Angels who taught the humans these things. How would the Angels know these? Honestly, the story could have been much, MUCH better.
- The cheese factor just went through the roof. Way more cheesier than the first book.
- Ellie kept complaining about the loss of her normal life. Complaining about it won't bring it back!
- Michael was such a jerk! I didn't like how he was shown here. Whether the way he acted was on purpose or not, it makes him look really, REALLY bad.
- Most part of the book was just really slow with only a few action scenes.

Pros:
- I liked Rafe. Sort of. He's not my favourite, but I'd pick him over Michael any day.
- The Book of Enoch. I liked the concept. But as I said before, it could have been told in a better way.

Aaaaaand that is all. Maybe I didn't enjoy the book because I read it while I was feeling sick. But even now, when I am better, I am still disappointed with this series.

This review includes my thoughts about both Fallen Angel and Eternity by Heather Terrell.

In A Nutshell:
Fallen Angel captured my attention. I was excited to continue the series, but Eternity kind of disappointed me. The pacing seemed rushed, like it was a race to finish the story. I was glad I read it, but I wanted more.

Review:
Ellie’s eyes fix on Michael almost from the first moment she sees him at her school. She is drawn to him. She feels a connection to him that she has never felt to a boy in her high school. It is more than his good looks, but she cannot piece together what it is.

And as the series progresses, I started to wonder what the attraction was myself. In Ellie, Heather Terrell created a character that is intelligent, compassionate, and fights for what she wants and what she believes in. Michael does not seem to be her equal. Yes, he is more physically adept than Ellie, but he repeatedly falls for lies and deceit because he succumbs to the needs of his pride. I understand that he is young and that he has lessons to learn, but he does not seem to learn with each encounter. And by comparison, Ellie does seem to learn, grow, and change with her encounters. She seems far less likely to make the same mistake repeatedly.

I enjoyed reading both of the books in the series, but I felt like there was a little bit of a problem with the pacing within the series. Fallen Angel deals primarily with their discovery of their natures and then their fight with the first Dark Fallen they meet. Eternity deals with them continuing to learn about their abilities and then their encounters with all of the rest of the Dark Fallen. There is a lot of action packed into the end of Eternity, which is exciting but overwhelming. The pacing of the series up to that point does not really prepare the reader for to have everything resolved in such a quick manner.

XD

Ellie started off not quite sure if what took place in Boston really happened for real or not. I even started to question whether it was for real, but soon the pieces started coming together, and after Michael confirmed that they were in fact the Nephilim and she was the Elect One, the drama and tension took off. What I love most about this series is the mythology. I’ve studied the Book of Enoch and the author does a great job combining fact with fiction, and using that to create interesting characters and world.

Michael kind of upset me in this book. He had some similar, questionable actions in the first book, but for him to come off weak again and have Ellie—even though I get she’s the Elect One—be the strong one, I was disappointed in him. Rafe, now he’s a character I can get into. He’s everything I feel that Ellie needs in a protector and love interest. I have high hopes that Michael will become stronger in the next book, but I’m really looking forward to seeing more of Rafe. Ruth was there again, the ever supportive best friend, but I was glad she got herself a boyfriend. She deserves to have some good times. The girl works too hard.

The ending has a twist that I pretty much new was coming, but the author delivered it well, and she even tossed some things I didn’t expect in. I felt it ended a little abruptly, but I know the next book will pick up where this one left off. I really wanted to see more there at the end, really feel how things had changed—trying not to give spoilers here—but I’ll wait patiently for the next book in the series. A quick, action-packed read with plenty of romance, I’ll def be reading the next one.
