"Their beloved little home was full of love . . . but it still felt empty" Samantha and Adam Klaassen started married life in the cozy little home built into the hill at the back of the Klaassen family farm. When they began looking forward to their own family, they knew they would need a real house with more room.
But now the silent bedrooms in the farmhouse built with such love and hopefulness by her husband haunt Samantha's days and nights. Why does God not see her yearnings for a child and answer the nearly constant prayers? And watching her sister-in-laws joyfully welcoming new little ones into their homes while her own arms lay empty nearly does her in. Does God even listen when a heart cries so fervently and long?
Award-winning, bestselling author Kim Vogel Sawyer told her kindergarten teacher that someday people would check out her book in the library. The little-girl dream came true in 2006 with the release of Waiting for Summer's Return. Kim's titles now exceed 1.5 million copies and are available in six different languages. A former elementary school teacher, she now enjoys a full-time writing and speaking ministry. Kim's passion lies in writing stories that point the reader to a deeper, more intimate relationship with God. When Kim isn't writing, you'll find her traveling with her retired military hubby, spoiling her granddarlings, petting the cats, quilting, or--as time allows--participating in community theater. 3rd book in trilogy - Samantha and Adam look forward to their own family - but are told by doctors that this will never be. Samantha battles with depression - Adam tries to ease her pain and distress. But - God DOES answer prayer!
A return visit to Mountain Lake Minnesota. Samantha and Adam have been anxiously waiting to begin their family but everyone else is blessed with children and they are still childless. God's time is never our time. They remind themselves to concentrate on their marriage and family members of brothers and sisters and parents but their farm home has way too many empty bedrooms. When there is a family of four orphaned, prayer is there only hope. I have enjoyed this series....will there be more?
Of all the books I've read by this author, that being most of them, this one is easily my favorite SO far! It made me laugh, cry, and everything in between. How true it is that God always hears and answers our prayers... it just may look different than what we thought we needed. Such a beautiful story!
Really nice story. Great change from the usual boy-meets-girl romances that are so common to Christian fiction, even though some of it's kinda sad. It's certainly not a complex plot or anything, just a simple and relaxing read.
