Various is the correct author for any book with multiple unknown authors, and is acceptable for books with multiple known authors, especially if not all are known or the list is very long (over 50).

If an editor is known, however, Various is not necessary. List the name of the editor as the primary author (with role "editor"). Contributing authors' names follow it.

"Shepherd of the Planets" by Alan Mattox - Spacemen feed a planet's natives and when they translate their language they realize they are saying a variant of the first line of the Lord's Prayer.

"Runaway" by Joseph Samachson - Plato dreams of being a stowaway on a rocket to another planet but gets caught. The reader learns at the end of the story that he isn't human but an android.

"Prelude to Space" by Robert W. Haseltine - The protagonist is interviewed by an alien seeking to ascertain whether Earth is ready to join a galactic federation of peaceful worlds.

"Vital Ingredient" by Charles De Vet - Orville is inadvertently killed by aliens who give him a new body which requires more food than he can consume.

"Goodbye Dead Man!" by Tom W. Harris - After Danny loses all his money in a card game he gives the victor radioactive coins to slowly poison him.

"The Passenger" by Kenneth Harmon - A woman on a space liner is devoured by a spider-like creature that works in the bowels of the ship.

"Planet of Dreams" by James McKimmey - George builds a gun to kill Loveral who has prevented the people from working.

"The Skull" by Philip K. Dick - Conger is sent back in time to assassinate a cult leader but he becomes his target.

"Homesick" by Lyn Venable - Five men make a thirty-year junket into space and come back allergic to Earth.

"The Cuckoo Clock" by Wesley Barefoot - Jim has been made into a Cuckoo parent by an Incubus.
