”You weren’t supposed to matter.”

description

Boston Kincaid screwed up BIG TIME with Ellie Trenton in college. She has remained in his heart as the girl he LET get away. Now ten years later, a note from a young girl arrives at his brother’s house and his whole world gets shaken up as Ellie and her daughter enter it.

”I messed up with you,” he reminded her. “Not her.”

Boston was terrified of love and Ellie Trenton in college and so ten years later to find out that he has a ten year daughter and that she wants to meet him was a total surprise. The hero was jerky and the story angsty and luckily years later, grown Boston was a great man and wins the hearts of both his girls.

”You’ve really changed since college, haven’t you” she murmured.

He gave a soft, surprised laugh.“God, I hope so.”

This was an entertaining read that had great characters in all family members and friends and one redeemable hero!

Overall, I enjoyed reading this engaging, angsty, and full of drama book. For those who love the "secret baby" plotline that features a jerky, self absorbed hero that is also forgivable and redeemable, then this book is for you. My goodness, the hero was a first class jerk during the flashback segments of this story. Although I may not have cared for him during those parts of the book, I did end up like him during the current time segments of the story.

As for the heroine, well, I found myself feeling somewhat ambivalent toward her. I understood her reason for keeping the baby a secret, and I felt she was sufficiently remorseful when she realized the hurt and damage it caused for everyone involved. All in all, however, I still feel ambivalent about her.

I would have given this book 4 stars if not for the ending. I felt it was rushed and somewhat anticlimactic considering all this couple went through to finally reach their happily-ever-after. I needed a simple epilogue to give me a more satisfied feeling when I finished this book. Still, I enjoyed reading this story.

Note: This book has major formatting issues. The text continually shifts between three different font types and there are gaps between words. It became distracting and annoying. For an ebook that costs $5.00, there is no excuse for this type of oversight.

Update: When I contacted Amazon about the high cost of this book, which has major formatting problems, I was notified the book is now unavailable for purchase until its formatting issues are resolved.

I must say I liked this one…. Kinda reminded me of the old Mills and Boon I read in yonder years…. Too young, misunderstandings, deceit. I know I have read a few books like this where the Hero doesn’t realize he has a child. The Hero was a bit of an ass in the flashbacks to College life but he does redeem himself.

I really enjoyed this book, it was a very well done second chance at love story and I loved the fact that we get to go back in time and see the start of the relationship and even the end of it. Most of all what worked for me was that the author could convincingly show that the hero Boston had matured from the 22 year old selfish jerk he had been.

When the book opens, it is raining and the hero is remembering the best sex of his life, which happened nearly a decade ago with the heroine in the rain, so he is surprised when he goes to his brother's and finds him reading a letter that he got from an almost ten year old, calling him his father. When he looks at the letter the mother's name jumps at him, it is Ellie's and the girl's name is what they discussed keeping for their child and Boston is hit with the fact that it is possible Ellie did not have a mis-carriage.

So, in a daze he goes to the address the letter mentions, learns from the neighbour that Ellie does live there and then he sees her. She looks almost the same and is still sexy. Her reaction to his presence is not happy, she seems shocked, almost panicked but invites him in and Boston gets to the point and asks her did she lie, Ellie seeing no choice admits that she did.

For Ellie her daughter Cassie is her whole life. Ellie herself lost her parents at a young age and was raised by an aunt that wasn't always there, so she was determined that her daughter wouldn't want for anything and she has succeeded but she soon realizes that the few questions she answered to assuage her daughter's curiosity about her father has led Boston back into her life and she isn't happy, she fears losing her daughter.

Ellie had reasons for lying to Boston. There was a time she adored him and would have done anything for him and forgiven him for almost anything but now she doesn't care. She gave him his heart and virginity but he didn't give her anything instead he treated her like a dirty secret never telling his family about her because he was ashamed of her humble roots and never telling her that their relationship carried an expiry date(when he left for law school). From what she knew he cheated on her, when she told him she was pregnant accused her of trapping him and acted badly, so she told him she mis-carried since she didn't want to live with his resentment and stand in the way of his ambition and he left immediately.

So, Boston was not my favorite character when we see the flashbacks but I came to like him and I admired him because he forgave Ellie for keeping his daughter from him and was sensitive to Ellie's feelings about being away from her daughter and let her set the time-table. He was also ashamed of his behaviour in the past and losing her had changed him and made him a better person. I also loved his family, how they took to Ellie and berated Boston when he did something wrong like taking Cassie out to eat or even the reasons for their break-up.

Even when they meet again the chemistry is still there but Ellie has to deal with her daughter and she has no intention of letting Boston hurt her again, so what if she has moments of weakness when they kiss, she doesn't want to get back together again and I loved her for that, even when Boston blurts out his love for her and is willing to do anything for them to try again.

I do so much admire a heroine who can stand up for herself and her trust issues seemed normal, given their past.

All in all I enjoyed the book and will give Hot Commodity(the cousin Cameron's and Olivia's) a try.

As much as I love the idea of Linda Kage's Price of a Kiss, I decided I needed a Harlequinesque re-read of one of my favs, Delinquent Daddy. It's just as crazy as it sounds!

"It ended so horribly for us," Ellie went on, ignoring Nora's sarcastic complaint. "I don't think I can get past that. How can I ever trust him again?"'
"A bad past can be fixed," Nora said. "A quiet, lonely future is just...sad."

Pre re-read review below :D

This book really surprised me. Delinquent Daddy is my first book by this author and I wasn't sure what to expect. I've also read the "secret baby" story more times than I can count but this book was a big ol' pleasant surprise for me. Even though college aged Boston pissed me off to no end, grown up Boston made up for it. As bad as I knew it was for Ellie to keep her daughter from meeting her father, I still managed a great deal of sympathy for Ellie and the choices she was forced to make. All things considered it's probably not a reread for me but I enjoyed the author's writing enough to move The Trouble With Tomboys up my tbr list.

I liked the fact that he couldn't go through with cheating on her even tho he is a shit for intention to do it. She was really weak and pathetic in their younger years I liked her a lot better after.

I enjoyed this book. The authors writing is good and enjoyable. I liked the pace of the story as well.

It would be good if there were an extended epilogue but overall not bad.

Well it was a story with lot of potential about a college couple that meets after ten long years and would been better had it been tighter. He was a young cheating shirking asshat and she, a sweet trusting teenage virgin, with a secret child thrown in down the line. He is ambitious and so doesn’t want liabilities, responsibilities and certainly no commitments so her unplanned pregnancy sends him off his rocker into an aggressive denial and blame mode. She thinks it best to let him think she has had a miscarriage and go her own lone way.

So now they meet as the headstrong daughter tracks him down or rather his brother, sending a letter asking if he was her father. The H lands up at their place and the h/H quibble over blame and rights and custody. He seems to be the same immature selfish college jerk till here but he slowly regroups and you see his caring sensitive protective side and his consequent grovel/explanation/transformation was acceptable to me as a reader.
All that was okay but the story seemed too long and sluggishly meandering towards the end and I felt it could have been tighter. The kid Cassie, called sweet and well brought up (and a credit to the h) was actually a bratty selfish ungrateful wretch (as are most kids I guess!). The H’s family was the usual cardboard one-wealthy but normal, rambling but loving, interfering but caring lot!

But the ppl who really tugged at my heart were Nora and Keller, the undauntable bff/neighbor/confidant/support-system/babysitter and her lovable ingenious son respectively. Nora’s husband is a lying cheating jerk and an uncaring father. Keller and Cassie are very close and in fact she defends the smaller boy from school bullies. His wistfulness as Cassie happily bonds with her newfound Dad and family and thus having less time for him really tugged at my heart. So when at the hea it’s accepted that the h and her daughter will now move to another town while Nora and Keller’s future/happiness is still unsettled, I felt as if something important in the story was left unresolved and hanging.

As one of my GR friends claimed in her review about this book, you'd better grab a box of tissues and brace yourself for an emotional ride...and she was absolutely right!

Delinquent Daddy had my attention from the first page. The premise of the book intrigued me, and being a parent myself, touched me on so many different levels. "Boston Kincaid," is a young, successful attorney who, 10 years ago, was in love with a woman, "Ellie Trenton," while they both attended the University of Kansas. Ellie, being 19 at the time, came from an entirely different family background than Boston's. His family was wealthy and extremely close, while her reality was devoid of parents, (they died when she was only 8), forcing her to live with a goverment assisted elderly great aunt, until college.

Boston and Ellie fell deeply and immediately in love. Both, so young and so full of dreams and aspirations for their future, until one mistake resulted in Ellie's pregnancy with Cassidy. Knowing Boston was about to move away to attend Yale the next year, and realizing he was ashamed of her family status, or lack thereof; Ellie tells Boston she lost the baby and that it would best if they moved on without each other. Twisted words, full of accusations and indescribable heartache, turned their breakup into a bad one. The only problem was, Ellie hadn't lost the baby and for 9 years, she kept it a secret from the man she probably still loved. Night after night at bedtime, Cassidy, by now a beautiful and smart 9 year old, asked her mother to tell her stories about her father and what he was like. Cassidy, realizing she had gathered enough information to track down her father's address, (with the help of a too-smart-for-his-own-good), best friend and neighbor boy, "Keller," she writes and mails "the" letter that changes everything...

This book was a joy to read with it's humor and banter, but also it's character's on-going sorrow and regretfulness. I completely understood why Ellie made the decisions she made, while also relating to Boston's anger in having missed so many years with his daughter, whom he completely and uttery adores. Another book that brought tears to my eyes in a way no other book has and I recommend it for the excellent writing and for the lovely, disasterous, and ultimately sweet story.

This book could have gotten a higher rating from me, but in the end it felt rushed. Not sure why. Maybe the author got a bit tired of the story, or maybe she ran out of time or space, but whatever, there was an injustice done to these lovely characters with this books rushed ending.

Ever heard the saying, "love is wasted on the young"? This story really is about strong feelings at such a young, inexperienced age. Thinking these feelings will happen with just anyone... Then jumping ahead years and knowing you'll never find that [something] again and ... can you go back? Will they be as strong or were you just imagining it or was it the time and place? Will you get a second chance??

This started as a rather heart wrenching story of two young lovers, so in love, they were uncomfortable with the feeling and the timing. Boston especially, had so much to do [Yale law school] and Ellie was the wrong person. She had a very different background than he, so she couldn't be the one - could she? Ellie on the other hand, she knew she loved Boston and she knew it was a love that would last forever until Boston's actions knocked it on its' Ass...

Then, Ellie came up pregnant. Not to give the story away, but lets skip ahead 10 years. Boston finds out he has a daughter conceived in a moment in the rain ... literally. Imagine his surprise and his anger that this was kept from him for so long. But, Ellie was all about self preservation and she was only 19. Given the situation, any one of us may have done what she did. Love is powerful in many ways and when you feel you are in a one sided relationship, you do what you can to survive the ending...

Cassie, the 9 year old daughter. Her character was real. She acted and communicated just like you would imagine any nine year old acting and reacting. She loved her mom, but she wanted, desperately wanted a relationship with her dad. You can see how she journeys through learning her role with her father and how her relationship and her role changes with her mother. I could have handled a bit more of this to fully get more into the emotion, but it the author handled this reasonably well.

I loved this story. It was so real. You can visualize this really happening and the author portrayed the characters and their feelings so well, but did them a dis-service with the rushed ending. Another hundred pages or so and she could have nailed it.

I will read more of this author. I think she write well and writes with heart. She gives us real people and real situations and then takes us on the journey to HEA. I'd recommend this book to anyone.

Happy Reading!

Just my thought ******SPOILERS****: I never thought Id ever say this: this is one cheating hero that I actually like. He was a swine, an utter shitehead when theyre younger. They meet again years later and shame, I actually felt for the guy. He realised he made horrible mistakes in the past and has grown and learnt from it since she left his life. Today he is gentle and sweet and so much in love with her. It helps that we get his POV as well. In my eyes, of course, a cheater can never grovel enough and the heroine can never take too long to forgive him - yet somehow this one worked for me.

Self note avoid
Cuz I’m so sick and tired of manwhore H with a doormat virgin h.
He uses her for sex, then cheats on her.
He dumps her. Screams at her for getting pregnant. She pretends to have a miscarriage.

10 yrs later, he only goes to see her because of his secret baby.🙄🙄
He only went back because of his daughter.

Heard the h forgives easily, because he’s just so friggin hot. What a loser h.

Cheating; some reviewers are not calling it cheating because he didn’t penetrate the ow. So penetration is required if it’s to be called cheating?

But would you be ok with your bf or hub picking up a girl at a party for a fuck. He takes her home, kisses and makes out with her even takin her top off….
I would call this a betrayal thus cheating.
Or maybe you’re ok with your man picking up random chicks at a party for a make out session.🤷🏻‍♀️

This book really aggravated me! Boston is a prick and a douchebag who blames Ellie for getting pregnant. He leads her on and cheats on her. Then gets mad at her for telling him she got a miscarriage even though he didn't want to do anything with a child. I lost some major respect for Ellie too. How could you let someone talk to you this way??? After 10 years you'd think she could see through the fact that Boston was a selfish, insensitive jerk but nope. You still let him have his way. And what made me so mad was how easily she fell for him AGAIN! They're fighting over Cassie and then they're all over each other!

Quickie Review:

This is a book I had such high hopes for and as you can tell from my rating, this book was NOT for me. It was one of the most toxic relationships I have ever read and I honestly can't believe this book came from Linda Kage. Its just nothing like anything I have ever seen her write. Also if you struggle with secret baby aspects that can turn toxic, then avoid this one here. My biggest issue was the heroine in this one and her reasons for keeping the secret. And to be honest I was not invested in their relationship at all. The child is the one that found the father, the mother wouldn't have ever told him and yeah she didn't have good enough reasons for it. I think the only aspect of the story that was redeemable was the father daughter relationship that is built within this book. I really adored that aspect and I could have cared less about these two being together. They weren't good for each other and there is a ton of mistrust especially on the side from the heroine. Basically she doesn't trust him at all, makes her own judgments, ends their relationship, tells him she had a miscarriage that was no miscarriage, and raises their daughter without him knowing. She knowingly deceives him from the truth and then is shocked that he wants time with his daughter. I think I would have DNF'd this one if it hadn't been Linda Kage at the helm of it. So just be aware before moving forward into this story.

Boston and Ellie are college Sweethearts. He gets cold
Feet about the relationship and treats her like shiz. I consider him more of a grade A douche bag rather than a cheater even though he did kiss another girl. After they break up Ellie discovers she’s pregnant. She tells Boston and his assholery knows no bounds. After Ellie is an accident and tell Boston she miscarried.
10 years later he finds out she lied. He shows up on her front porch and wants to Meet his daughter. Most of
The angsty feels is from the way he verbally abused Ellie In the past. HEA eventually.

I really wanted to like this book, and it started out well, but somewhere along the way it just stopped working for me.

*SPOILER ALERT*

The Good

- I liked the letter that started this whole story off, from Cassie.
- Boston's family were great, and I definitely want to read more about Cam & Olivia.
- The brief flashbacks to the couple's past were just enough to give me an insight into how things were, without boring me.
- I was never bored.
- Elora's name was really cool. I know that isn't important, but I thought it worth mentioning. And for some reason it made me think of Harry Potter.

The Bad

- Unfortunately, the flashbacks I mentioned of this couple's college days did nothing for me. There were no sweet moments between them really, and in my opinion, Boston was a douche. Maybe if there were some good times mentioned, I would have felt more for this couple.
- Boston was a prick to Ellie in the past, but unlike her, I couldn't forgive him for it. Young or not, he was a selfish, insensitive ass, therefore I never really liked him.
- These two united and went from freaking out and kinda despising each other a little, to all of a sudden kissing and tearing shirts open. I hated that. It made them both seem like horny teenagers in my point of view and I just wasn't feeling it.
- I couldn't feel their chemistry.
- Boston mentioned their coupling in the rain, and spoke about it being the most erotic and magical moment of his sexual life, then followed that up immediately by telling Ellie he'd 'tried it with other woman' but couldn't replicate the experience. And Ellie swooned. First of all, fuck that Boston you pig for mentioning other woman and Ellie.. you disappoint me. That is not cute.
- I thought the playful relationship Boston had with his sister in-law was fun, until the weird closed mouth kiss he gave her on Thanksgiving. Major WTF moment.
- Cassie was a little brat and I felt like smacking her. I have never disliked a child more.
- For such a smart woman, I couldn't understand why Ellie just wanted to 'forget' about getting fired, and let her former employer get away with firing her over something that was so unfair. She lost major respect from me over that.
- Things started becoming so predictable. I knew Ellie would end up going to Thanksgiving dinner, I knew she'd get fired, and I knew Cam and Boston would think of her when his secretary conveniently got fired too.
- Rushed, unsatisfactory ending. They go from zero to engaged after a quick shag on an office desk. Nothing romantic or sexy about it.

Yeah, so as you can see the Con's majorly outweighed the Pro's. Would I recommend this book? Probably not, no. But as I mentioned, I am interested in reading the other book in this series so there is that. Hopefully that one will work out better for me.

Ellie loved Boston with everything she had. She thought Boston loved her. Until he cheated on her in college.
When she told him he was pregnant he flipped his shit! After all they had broken up, she wasn’t rich, he was therefore she was trying to trap him.
He accepted the pregnancy eventually…
By then it was too late. Ellie was in an accident and lost the baby….
She told Boston to get out of her life forever….

Montgomery Kincaid received a letter from a little girl stating she was his daughter.
The day that Monty got that letter it changed the life of his brother, Boston Kincaid.
It was supposed to be for him.
Boston had a daughter.
She was 9.
He didn’t know.
He does now….
and he is PISSED!

So now 9 years later to have him turn up at her door, she flips her shit!
This story has funny parts, sad parts and parts that make you squirm! hot sex in an office on a desk anyone??
Its written in Boston and Ellies POV.
The secondary characters are great as Boston has a large, close family.
Ellie’s next door neighbours are great too.
and it also finishes with a pretty sappy, but strangely funny HEA.
I def suggest giving it a go for a sweet read.

Reading this without any expectations beforehand is the main reason I think why I enjoyed this. This offers completely nothing new but I was gripped.

The secret baby trope is something that I've always been fond of reading and this doesn't exactly stray away from those I have read before that share the exact same plot. What I think made the difference is that for the first time, I was actually truly infuriated with both the main characters here. Them making my blood boiling was enough reason for me to stick through the end and find out if they can ever be redeemed in my book.

After finishing, I'm glad that my hatred with both the main characters progressed into ambivalence. I think that was enough to rate this book another half star. I was actually contemplating on just rating this a 2.5 seeing that I've read way too many of this plot in its genre and so far only few has earned high ratings from me like Katie Cotugno's How to Love. (Oh, I just realized that I have just somehow inadvertently advertised that novel here in my review now. I hope you guys don't mind then. *wink* *wink*)

When I first picked this book I had some notion it was set in the eighties and as I read it I totally pictured this as an eighties SEP type book . But it was actually wrote in 2010 so either the author is just an old fashioned girl or she doesn’t write very strong heroines. This was just too eye rolling for me, the guy was a jerk and to be honest I know my opinion might not be popular but he didn’t deserve to know about his daughter. when he did find out he absolutely used it as a stick to beat her with how his daughter (that he did not want nor believe she was conceived accidentally despite HIM not using protection !!) was withheld from him. Everything else was just stupid and don’t get me started on the weirdness of the hero’s relationship with his cousins wife. Ew!

Go ahead and pull out the tissues because this book is a tearjerker!

I had my first Linda Kage experience a couple of days ago. It was such an amazing experience that I went on a three day bender: Day One: The Trouble with Tomboys, Day Two: How to Resist Prince Charming, Day Three: Delinquent Daddy.

I read Delinquent Daddy in one sitting. I started it one night after work and stayed up until 2 o’clock in the morning to finish it. This romance novel was an emotional roller coaster rider that had me feeling all sorts of emotions. This novel had me sobbing, laughing, smiling, cheering, yelling, and feeling like I had been punched in the gut. It was heartbreaking. It was hopeful. It was sweet. And, it was extremely touching.

Throughout this novel we are introduced to two versions of Boston Kincaid and Ellie Trenton: Boston and Ellie in their college years and Boston and Ellie ten years later. It was remarkable how much the characters changed in ten years. Their growth was drastic and obvious. Boston went from being a selfish, snobby jerk to a mature, thoughtful man. Ellie went from being a shy, naïve schoolgirl to a loving, nurturing mother. I enjoyed seeing both the past and present versions of the characters.

I really connected with the two main characters, Boston and Ellie. I loved both characters, but I didn’t always agree with their actions. I got mad at both characters plenty of times. They both made their share of mistakes in the past and in the present, but in the end, I forgave them both for their mistakes and rooted for them to find happiness.

Delinquent Daddy sat on my “to-read” shelf for a couple of months. The synopsis grabbed my attention and the high ratings made me look twice, but when it came to actually purchasing this novel, the title and the book cover held me back, mainly the title. Every time I read “Delinquent”, I thought juvenile delinquent. I don’t know. It just didn’t encourage me to pick this book up. I am so glad that I was introduced to Linda Kage and all of her fabulousness recently because if I hadn’t read The Trouble with Tomboys then this book would most likely still be sitting on my “to-read” shelf, which would be a shame. I most likely would have picked this book up eventually, but I am glad that I read this book sooner rather than later. It was a wonderful experience, and I hate to think that I might have missed out on it.

I gave Delinquent Daddy by Linda Kage 4 STARS. This was my third Linda Kage novel in three days. I think it’s safe to say that I’m obsessed!

PS: I recommend this novel for fans of Take this Regret by Amy Lichtenhan and vice versa.

-XOXO

I already liked Linda Kage the moment I got my hand on The Trouble with Tomboys . I fell in love with her characters their - but it had not prepared me for this one! I'm so not THAT head over hills with the characters - but the plot was definitely:

Tearjerker! Totally!

What happens when your past comes knocking on your door bearing a letter from your daughter who was asking if he was her daddy? AWKWARD!!

Ellie lied when she told Boston she had a miscarriage. She wanted him off the hook - after all, they were not together anymore when he got her pregnant. Some words thrown at her and the circumstances that surrounded their breakup was not easily forgotten and tore her heart into pieces. So, she chose to continue the pregnancy without him.

Nine years after, he came strolling into her doorstep and demanded to see their daughter.

I really can't blame her for trying her best to cut ties with him. However, despite all hurt she experienced from Boston, she still allowed him to become Cassie's father. It was a bumpy road, more detours and stop-overs along the way - but the destination was worth it.

Boston: I'm not sure whether I like him or hate him.

This is the old Boston:

He was so full of himself, cocky, rich kid who fell in love, got scared, got someone pregnant, and got more scared in the process. Perhaps he was not ready to become a father, or he was scared sh*tless that he was feeling something for Ellie - someone he didn't meant to fall in love with. So of all the possible stupidity he could do, he did one thing that will surely break her heart: he cheated.

But this new Boston:

How can you not fall in love with a man who is trying his best to become a good father to a daughter he has never seen for almost a decade? His character did a complete 180 change - from that cocky arrogant college guy into a responsible one. I love the fact that he didn't allow the mother-daughter relationship to be strained. Learning his mistake the hard way, he was now ready to become a father and so much more.

I love this one. I always like the hope of second chances and forgiveness. This book will tell you that nothing is ever too late. So, you want a short read that will make your heart ache a bit and shed some tears: READ THIS. You won't surely regret it.

Heart Fucking Wrenching!! I cried all the time while I was reading this!

I was trying to stop myself from crying but the tears won't stop!!

So I let the tears drop cried so hard up to 3 in the Efing morning...

And my Mom was shouting at to go to sleep but I can't stop reading it, my eyes are sore from crying and reading in the dark! Ugh!

THIS type of stories are my cup of tea, I'm used to stories that relationship took breaks because of unfortunate events or incidents that was premeditated by family members or whatsoever... So I really dig this one! Full of heartaches caused by the damn hottie Tall Dark and Handsome Boston! HAHA OHMIGOSH... I LOVE TALL DARK AND HANDSOME GUYS... So going back to the story, I was really hurt when he did that to Ellie, I was crying so hard I even over think things myself. I felt Ellie's heartache and it really broke my heart, especially when he said that to her and when their daughter pushed her and ran for her daddy and wanted to stay with daddy... I cried so hard!! Gosh!

Well If you were wondering if I only Gave it 4 stars... I wished for more heartache... I wanted to cry more and although I love the ending but it was so fast I really wanted more!

But it was GOOD... really GOOD!!

Linda Kage's books are like potato chips - it's hard to read just one! After finishing The Stillburrow Crush, I read a great review of this one by Reading, Eating & Dreaming I Was Blair Waldorf (an awesome reviewer, btw! that girl reads up a storm and writes thoughtful and clever reviews!) that made it sound like fun, so here I am. And it is definitely fun, although occasionally a little bit of the maddening, can't you two get it together and just communicate variety. I had more trouble forgiving Boston, the male MC, than the lovely Ellie did (I seem to have issues with that, maybe that's why I'm not a hardcore romance reader?). I am a total sucker for the secret baby kind of plot, and this one doesn't fail to deliver (haha) all the emotion and impact associated with finding out that you've a) unknowingly been a father all these years, and b)inflicted a whole lot of heartbreak in conjunction therewith. This is a sweet and satisfying read, hard to put down (I didn't, actually, started on the train on the way home and finished that evening!) and a pleasure all the way through.

Wonderful emotional second chance at love story, disliked Boston he was a selfish mean immature cruel man though in ten years he redeemed himself a little but still i was angry at him for constantly potraying himself as injured party inspite of the way he behaved with Ellie:(Adored Ellie she was a strong woman and a great mother, loved Boston's family, this one is a keeper for me.

Overall a great read
Recommend it.
