Becoming the new apprentice to the Habitat Partner of Forest is very important to young Albert, but it seems like it will take forever. While doing another dull, jungle plant life survey with his Plateosarurus partner, Hightop, they hear disturbing newsthe root that guarantees all Dinotopians longevity is disappearing. Every potential apprentice is dipatched to all corners of Dinotopia and now Albert has a chance to guarantee his own apprenticeship. But in his hurried, hopeful search for answers, what important questions is he forgetting to ask?
Humans and dinosaurs co-operate to protect a plant that apprently makes them live long beyond their allotted three score years and ten. As the title suggests, there's plenty of fire action - running away from same, putting out etc. Of the Dinotopia books read so far I would say this was the least gripping and had the weakest story. Sean drifted off a number of times, which is unusual for him, so make of that what you will.
This was a pretty decent adventure in Dinotopia and while I felt they focused to much on the botany and the plants of dinotopia and the climax felt a little rushed but it was still an overall fun adventure.
this was a project i started to read a number of books about dinotopia in hopes of creating a dinosaur theme unit for upper grades of elementary school
