What is the origin of the world and of life itself? Did a series of accidents and evolution bring about the world as we know it? Or is there a design and purpose behind it all? And if there is a design, is there an ultimate designer? A number of years ago, John Clayton, a second-generation atheist and respected scientist and teacher, set out to disprove the Bible from a scientific point of view. Instead, his six-year study brought him to a profound faith in the God of the Bible. Now, in this highly informative and easy to understand book, John Clayton and Nils Jansma -- a geotechnical engineer and geologist -- present convincing evidence that the Bible and the facts of science agree. As the public moves away from a belief in God as Creator of our heaven and earth, it becomes imperative that all believers be well informed on this vital subject. This book will become a resource you will use again and again.
Very Good Information....Brother Clayton was an atheist who attempted to disprove the Bible and wound up recognizing the Bible's truths and power. His book helps the reader to see some pretty rational and practical points of view to show the reliability of a Supreme Being leaving information that would have the ability to direct mankind, IF people choose to follow those directions. AT times Clayton's presentation is a little difficult for the layman to read, but Clayton is pretty good at giving examples on a common person's level to see some of his points. I recommend EVERYONE read this book and search the Scriptures along side it to see if it makes sense to you. I believe the majority of it WILL make sense.
Enjoyed this book for its ability to corelate science and Genesis (with additional bible references thrown in). I found his explanation and proofs of an intelligent creator well reasoned and enlightening. Regardless of my opinion of the Bible, I lost interest when he went on to try to validate the Bible as a whole.
Provides a broad appreciation of the reason to believe in intelligent design.
This book is thought-provoking. For scientific minds, it answers some questions and bridges some gaps between scientific findings/theories and faith in God. As a Christian, one of my biggest questions has been where science fits in with faith. This book helped me understand how science and Christianity are not mutually exclusive.
