Genre: Poetry Anthology
'Fresh Brats' is a well-thought out and clever poetic book. It is a silly book that gave me a good laugh throughout reading it! One of my favorite poems in the book is based on karma. Cleverly thought out, author X.J. Kennedy writes about a young boy named Sheldon who lit the school doors on fire. With karma's luck, he was locked inside when he did this devious deed. The poem then goes on to explain why he set the door's on fire. Read the book to find out why!

This is a book of children's poetry by X.J. Kennedy. The poems vividly describe children doing naughty things. Even as an adult I found it hilarious and engaging. I know that children would love it. The poems were lively and inventive with a spattering of illustrations. I definitely recommend it to anyone with elementary aged children!
