This was part of our nature/science studies for BYL1 and I loved it! There was good information and fantastic illustrations that kept our attention. I wish we had found a square in our yard that was so interesting!

Great non fiction text for grades 3-5 that could be used for an ecology unit. It includes some experiments and activities. There are more in this series.

While this states it is for young readers, I found it fascinating. Perhaps it is because I was once trained as a nature guide at a refuge. We also have a vegetable and a flower garden so there was a lot that was applicable to read, the illustrations were great for sketch pads.
