DCI George Havilland is a good policeman. He's never crossed the line. But when it looks as if local villain Richard Hill is going to get away with murder - literally - for a second time, Havilland forges a confession, and puts himself outside the law. Found out and suspended, he must try to prove Hill's guilt alone, without the help of the system which has abandoned him.
Patrick Dillon lives in Kennington, where he runs a successful architectural practice. His first novel Truth was followed by Lies published by Michael Joseph.
