I loved this book. Gabe, a stubborn, proud human detective gives Tehmper, an equally stubborn fire demon, a run for his money.
When Tehmper finds out that Gabe is his mate, he starts the claiming process without asking the other man if he agrees. He doesn't even tell Gabe what's going on, and then leaves. Gabe finds out eventually - and is less than impressed.
I loved the world Stormy Glenn has created here as much as I adored the main characters. Adding the humor with which this is written, the intense emotions between Gabe and Tehmper, and the tension of the plot (even if the main villain was a bit of a caricature), and I cannot help myself but give it 4 stars. I certainly hope there will be a few sequels!

I liked it, I won't say I didn't. I will not be reading it again, though.
I think that the problem with this book (or at least one of the problems) is that it is like many other books I have read. The setting was different but the story was essentially the same.
Also, the fact that Gabe was "the woman" of the relationship just didn't seem right. In my opinion, M-M books should not have one of the guys as the "woman". They are both males and strong, but they act like two stressed damsels.
This book was obviously written by a woman. The descriptions were so girly, the hot scenes were the same throughout the book.

What a way to burn.
I absolutely loved this book. Gabe is a detective in the human world. When a chance meeting in a dark alley has him meeting the demon of his dreams. Tehmper is a djini a demon hunter and he's just found his mate. When Gabe defeated a shayatin little did he no he whole world was fixing to change. I loved the world that's this author has created. I loved this characters. I love how Gabe stands up for what's right no matter the peril it puts him in. I highly recommended this series.

Hahahaha!! I love this book!! I esp like the part where Gabe accidentally shoot someone and he said Ooops!! And Tempher looked at him and said is that all you can say!! I was LOL at that scene till my mum stared at me like I was insane..

I love Stormy. Her stories are stress free reads and they always leave me feeling good. I am excited with the new series and can't wait to see where she takes it!

Gabe and his friend Nick are policemen. They both live a normal life, till one night while on patrol they see something that will change their lives forever. A man is getting attacked and they need to do something to help him. They need to catch the aggressor and to do so they need to surround him. Gabe goes one way and Nick in the other.
Gabe is the first one to arrive and soon he understands that he is no match for the other man, since the criminal seems too strong to be human. Gabe tells the "man" to stop but the other keeps walking towards him and Gabe shoots him. One, two times but the man is still alive, something that shouldnt be possible. The aggressor takes Gabe by the throat and the smaller human is sure that he is gonna die, but he is feisty and smart and doesnt give up. In the end he doesnt know how, but he is able to win the fight. He is still in shock when he gets surrounded by 4 shadows. He thinks that maybe these men are friends of the other one, but luckily he is wrong. (btw where the fuck is Nick???)
Tehmper is a fire demon, he and his friends are protectors of his world,Jinnistan. They hunt Shayatin, demons that went on the dark side. He doesnt know how an human was able to beat one of those, but Gabe is worth of being his mate. Without thinking the fire demon bites the human, starting the mating process. Tehmper knows that he needs to leave the human and go back to his world with the prisoner, but he will come back and hopes that in the main time the bite and a pendant that he gives to the human will keep him safe.He is wrong.
While in Jinnistan, the demon goes to his leader, the Amir to explain what happened and tells him about his mate. The Amir asks him to not mate the human till he has met him and the fire demon has to agree. In that precise moment I understood that the Amir was a fraud and I was right.
When Tehmper goes back to the surface to find Gabe he soon understands that the Shayatin, thanks to the bite, are attracted to his mate. He needs to take Gabe with him, back to his world. The demon doesnt have time to explain to his mate what is happening bcs they get attacked. Tehmper and his friends try to protect Gabe and Nick, but they are outnumbered and soon there will be more coming for them.
They are able to escape.
When Tehmper takes Gabe to the Amir and they meet,the other man tells him that he wants Gabe and since they didnt end the mating ritual, Tehmper doesnt have any claim on the human.
Gabe and Tehmper argue most of the time or bicker, and they still didnt have any sexual contact more than the bite a few days ago, and Gabe still doesnt know anything about their world, but he is sure of one thing, he doesnt want the Amir to touch him and he is gonna fight.
Gabe is not a naive man, he has had previous relationships and he is sassy,bossy and isnt shy. When he finds out that the Amir wants him as a sex toy and that he has over 130 ppl in his harem, he does all he can to stop him. He is able to send a message to his mate, with the help of one of the Amir's consorts, that soon after we will find out is the mate of one of Tehmper's friends, useless to say that when the said friend finds out that he had a mate and what the Amir did to him he gets furious and wants revenge.
While Tehmper and his friends are searching for the ancient laws of their people to prove that the Amir doesnt have rights on his mate, we see what is happening to Gabe.
The Amir wants to make Gabe submit to him and become his sex toy, but the human fights and in the end the Amir fails and decides to fake of having be hit by the human and asks his guards to put Gabe in jail. The next day he will be executed.
He doesnt know what one of the guards is Tehmper's little brother. Later that night the 2 lovers are able to meet in the cell and there they talk. Later that same night they complete their mating, finally making love.
Tehmper will do all he can to save his mate from the execution, and he tells this to Gabe. The human believes him and he tells the demon that he is sure the Amir is an impostor that he is from the surface like him,they just need proofs.
Back to his friends Tehmper explains to them what Gabe said to him and one of them replies that now all makes sense and lets him see what he found. In the ancient laws there was no Amir, the clans were the rulers of their world. Each clan ruled for 40 years and then another did and so on...
Is the day of the execution and Gabe does all he can to stall it and make the ppl understand that the Amir is not from their world and is a fake.
To make this shorter. I dont even know in which language I'm writing this review but I'm 99% sure is not english...
There is a fight, Tehmper and the others arrive and they are finally able to expose the Amir. The man wounded in his pride tries to kill Tehmper, but Gabe shields him with his body.
He knows that he is gonna die, but he saved his mate so he doesnt care. Tehmper is crying and thinks that he has lost his mate forever but there is a surprise for them.
Gabe is in the limbo when a man comes to him. He is a messanger of the gods and tells him that he needs to make a choice. he can die, he can go back to his world without any memories of his mate or this world,or he can stay with his mate in Jinnistan, but never go back to his world. Well we all know which one he will choose.
Tehmper cant believe that his mate is back and well. Also the Amir seems shocked by the fact and tries to attack them again. This time Gabe kills him, using his new ability, the fire. There are some perks in being the mate of a fire demon, it seems that being able to use fire is one of them.
The ppl of the Amir's harem are now free and can go back to their lives. Jinnistan will finally be ruled again by the clans and it seems that the first one will be Tehmper's clan. Maybe the thing that helped the council make this decision was the fact that Gabe and Nick have a tattoo on their back(a normal tattoo they got together years before) and the ppl of Jinnistan think is connected to the old prophecy which says that when 4 Dijin would be mated to 4 ppl with those tattoo their world would have 1000 years of peace and prosperity.
I'm sure that Nick and Storym, one of Tehmper's friends, are mates and that they will be hot together.
The book ends with Tehmper and Gabe making love and confessing their love to each other.
The story wasnt bad, and there was more plot than sex, but I felt that it missed something and I was annoyed by the fact that Jinnistan ppl seemed to be all idiots, i save only Tehmper and his friends. How could they not understand that the Amir was an impostor or that he had over 130 consorts???bah....

FIRE DEMON is the first in the Elemental Demons series by Stormy Glenn and it is a fascinating, intriguing world that she has created. What do you get when you cross a cop from the surface world and a fire warrior from below the surface? A scorching hot tale that will have you wishing for more.
Tehmper has come to the surface hunting rogue demons shayatin, and when he comes across Gabe, a human cop who has just captured one, he knows he has found a worthy Demonas Amate…his mate. Tehmper knows he cannot take his mate to his home below the surface, without permission from the Amir, so he marks Gabe with a bite to the neck but doesn't complete the claiming.
All Gabe remembers is being on a stake out and chasing the perp down an alley, and when he wakes up, he finds a bite mark on his neck and he keeps having the most erotic dreams of his life. When Tehmper comes back to claim him, he's not sure what to believe but he knows he can't deny the chemistry he feels for the stranger. When he finally agrees to go with Tehmper he finds himself in more trouble than if he had just stayed home.
As with most first books of series, especially ones set in an alternate world there is a lot of world building and background information. This doesn't bother me because I like to know the rules. I liked that Gabe's character stayed true to himself. Even though he was in a strange place, he didn't back down when he saw something wasn't right. He wasn't afraid to try and help people even though he was in trouble himself. Tehmper's complete devotion to Gabe was easier to believe than Gabe's acceptance of everything that happened. Gabe seemed to accept this alternate universe a little too easily.
The villain was one of those completely amoral people that you love to hate. I liked this new world and the characters that were introduced and can't wait to see what Ms. Glenn has planned next.

I've wanted to read this book since I stumbled across it here on Goodreads. A fire demon, a resistant lover, and a supernatural backdrop? Sounded right up my alley.
And it was. I read this before bed last night, thinking I'd read a few pages and go to sleep since I was exhausted. Instead, I read the whole thing and am hoping for a sequel, since a few loose ends were purposely left untied after Tehmper and Gabe's storyline wrapped up.
The main characters were lovable and I enjoyed rooting for them. The book kept me turning pages, and the pacing wasn't bad. Also, the book had sex and plot, the latter of which is too often forgotten in homoerotica. I liked this book enough that I want to read the sequel, too--not just to find out what happens, but because I want to revisit everyone.
All that said, the book wasn't perfect. The last sex scene felt tacked on; the showdown at the climax had pacing issues, as well as repeatedly raising the mental question, "Is everyone else just standing around while XYZ happens? Why has time stopped?"; I don't remember a woman anywhere in the story; and finally, there was little character development, since soul-mate-love-at-first-sight stories generally leave little room for romantic progression.
In spite of those issues, I really enjoyed Fire Demon, and I feel comfortable recommending it to others--the good far outweighed the bad. I'll definitely be reading more by Stormy Glenn.

Gabe is a cop, who when on a stakeout comes across a giant guy attacking their suspect. Amazingly he takes the guy down and before he knows it, four other big guys show up and one of them bites him, leaving him unconscious and with no memory. A bit later, they show up at his apartment and it seems he’s the mate of one of the men and the other rogue demons are out to get him. After taking care of the rogue demons, Gabe and his partner Nick are forced to return to the demon realm.
I find Stormy Glenn is my go-to Doritos read, but this was actually of a higher quality than some. The emphasis was on the story, with the who political intrigue as the ruling Amir attempts to take Gabe for himself. I like Gabe, he had a temper (and happened to be mated to a fire demon named Tehmper – ha!) and he could take care of himself, even against bigger demons. It’s a fun read, with more emphasis on story than sex which was nice and Tehmper was delightfully naive about surface dwellers and the use of language. He was huge but a softie inside with Gabe.

I've enjoyed the books I've read by Stormy Glenn and this one was no exception. I quite like the Soul Mate theme with instant lust/love which was present here. The plot and language was simple with Gabe being "kidnapped" and the story revolved around his release and the change of leadership in the demon world. The world itself was greatly built even though not too many details were revealed. I'd like to read more books with this kind of world. :)

Stormy Glenn with a few other authors are fun, sweet reads for me. They aren't hugely complex and the characters usually fall in love easily. I enjoyed this one a bit more because, Gabe, one of the MC's is characterized as a much more powerful guy and he knows it. I love the stories with "little" guys but this one just had a little something more. I do wish Tehmper's character had been just a tad deeper but still I enjoyed the story.

typical Stormy Glenn serial romance. nothing fantastic, nothing so bad it can't be finished. what is typical Stormy Glenn? imagine a shorter harlequin romance but with no t&a (see, i was going to write no surprise pregnancies, but... yeah.).

I thoroughly enjoyed this book. Honestly I expected to be disappointed for some reason, maybe the whole demon thing Idk. I did find the human to be way too accepting of all things paranormal, but I'm finding most of these novellas are that way, probably due to the shortness of the story. I'm getting used to the speed of them and am happy to sacrifice that bit, for great character development and more of the world looked into.

A wonderful book, very well write, sensual, that keeps you into the story and always wanting more.
This series promises much and I look forward to reading the second book.

Hm, surprisingly this book, even with it's cheesy love dclarations (I'm not romantic it seems), had so much humour and clever commentary it turned out to be a great read. Light, funny and entertaining. Nothing heavy or thought provoking. Perfect book to chill out.

I weirdly want to read the next one right now. I mean, Nick has the mark too. Who is his mate? Anyways, this was a fun book. Lots of action, not a whole lot of sex but we've got the "mate" thing going and I love me a growly demon.

I found a new series and this is it for me. Stormy Glenn has opened up a new world again and couldn't have done a better job. I will enjoy every moment of this new series.
