I have to say that I pretty much blame my mother for all this. If my dear Mum wasn't an avid reader of romance, then I might not have fallen in love with romance novels myself. And then I wouldn't have decided to write my own romances. Thanks Mum!

Of course, I never thought it would take me 20 years before I saw my first piece de résistance in print. Perhaps I wouldn't even have tried, but you know, I think I still would have reached for my dream. Romance novels offer such wonderful affirmations about love and relationships that I can't imagine not wanting to share my stories with others.

I currently live in Melbourne, Australia but over the years have travelled to New Zealand, the UK, and the USA. In my own backyard, my husband’s job ensured we saw the diversity of the countryside, from the tropics to the outback, country towns to the cities. I find it very fitting that I sold my first manuscript on January 26th 2006, which is Australia Day in my country.

Since that fateful day I have had 12 books published, selling almost a million and a half copies worldwide in as many as 17 languages. I'm also published in short stories worldwide in national magazines.

I am married to Geoff, who has proven his hero status many times over the years. We have two handsome sons and an assortment of previously abandoned animals.

I'm always happy to hear from my readers. For me, it really is a pleasure to be here.

Jenna goes to Adam about his brother and her brother and money that appeared to be owed to her brother. Adam decides he will look into it, but only if Jenna will pretend to be his girlfriend to get this OW to BTFO. He doesn’t want a real r/s, just a façade to distract the OW who is the wife of his best friend. A friend that had previously helped Adam w/ a very traumatic event in his past and good buddy Adam decides the way to repay the friend’s kindness is to keep mum about what his friend’s wife is doing. Because of the event in Adam’s past he determines he doesn’t want any children – so why didn’t he get snipped?

It appeared that Adam claimed to have seen Jenna’s deeper character and seems to like what he sees. Then he believes she conned him all along and he should have went w/ his gut in not trusting her. Adam continually jumped to conclusions about Jenna. After all it’s not what you show the person it’s what they believe about you! He has shown he is a liar and deceiver at very least but she still falls in love with him?

Jenna had some of her own baggage but apparently it was dropped on the side of the road because it didn’t pose much of a problem w/ her r/s w/ Adam. She doesn’t ever really question him about what “appears to be” his infidelity and it wasn’t really resolved in this story for me either.

Adam seemed very selfish it was all about him, his loss, his pain, his hurt, his not wanting to hurt his friend but he didn’t seem to want to help his friend either. It seemed easier for Adam to just distract the problem and hope it would go away.

That sudden out of the blue (okay not really because it was near the end of the story) epiphany was AMAZING!!! I didn’t get that. Suddenly he KNOWS he loves her and the dialogue got cheesy quick!! Tells her that love recognizes love, really because we already knew she loved him but of course her love didn’t recognize his! LOL!

For me he wasn’t a good Hero just a good time guy!

I only read the first 2 chapters of this book - sadly it is not a writing style I enjoyed. The protagonists internal monologues of vengeance & comeuppance annoyed me as did the tell not show style of writing.

Again, Maxine doesn't disappoint me. Great alpha hero, and great sexual tension!
