Alphaless. Mateless. Wild. The Lone Wolf pack is full of bad boys who break hearts… I'll do whatever it takes to make sure it's not mine.
After my nightmarish past, starting fresh should be a dream come true. But when my father’s death leaves me on the run, I have no choice but to seek shelter with the only family I have left. An uncle I’ve never even met.
My uncle has a bad attitude and pack of friends that remind me far too much of the toxic life I left behind. Cruel, sexy Kai Stone is the worst of them. Occasionally, when the moon is high and full, I swear there’s something even beastlike about him. A monster who thrives off the mayhem and chaos that surrounds him. But no matter how hard I fight it, something about him tugs at my very soul.
The worst part is, I have a secret. And when Kai discovers it, I have to convince him to let me stay. Worse, I’ll have to trust him. And make him trust me.
Because I know he’s keeping something from me as well. And when I learn the truth, it will change everything.
If there’s one thing Kai refuses to allow, it’s outsiders.
Too bad neither one of us knows how to resist a bad idea.
Heather Hildenbrand lives in coastal Virginia where she writes paranormal and fantasy romance with strong-willed heroines and dark, grumpy heroes who’ll burn the world down for their mate. She's an idiot. So much potential wasted on juvenile conversations. The FMC has zero common sense half the time and I want her killed off at this point
This was.... well, hollow. Started really good. Then once she reaches her uncle it all goes to shit. Insta love, angry mate that is hot and cold, mostly cold, and no chemistry at all. They're thrown together because, well, the author said so. That's it. Ash is a mess and her back story changes to suit the narrative, within the same conversation a lot of the time. She had no friends, didn't go to school, somehow had experience with bad boy boyfriend, but then she held a stable job, and had only slept with 3 guys once a piece. Somehow Ash is able to jump straight into a new friendship with two people with no awkwardness. They're just suddenly instant friends. This isn't how life works, it's hard to make friends when you're older and going to a place where friend groups are preestablished. But going somewhere that rejects outsiders violently, and two outcasts just jump on having a newcomer as a friend... yeah that didn't fit into the world at all.
I hate stupid female characters. Ash is an idiot. She does stupid things constantly. How are we supposed to relate to her? She has no self respect. She let's everyone walk over her and then it's defiant over stupid meaningless shit that only gets her into trouble.
She seems to know more about the curse than she should too. The dialogue was awful, especially regarding the curse. They can't talk about it but they can but they can't and somehow she can just pick up the specifics on her own.
There’s a lot of dumb things that happen in this trilogy and I’m embarrassed to admit that I read all 700+ pages of them. It’s insta-love wolf shifters paranormal trilogy.
The first book is incredibly slow, the 2nd one is a confusing mess with way too many characters doing whatever they want and somehow everything comes together ok and the 3rd is way too rushed, and a new character makes a late appearance with revelations that changes everything. There’s a curse, magic, betrayal.
Kai and Ash have little to no chemistry. Or it feels forced to suit the story. It’s all told from Ash’s single POV so you have to guess what Kai is thinking most of the time. Kai runs hot and cold and you’re always guessing why. Ash is argumentative and contradictory. She’s also paranoid, angsty and immature. She and Kai never feel like they are alpha material. And based on the lack of chemistry, I can’t picture them still together in 20 years.
The side characters are tiresome and predictable. Like little robots constantly repeating the same snarky dialogue. And every single one of them has to be snarky. The villains are one dimensional and cartoonish. So much of their behavior is over the top. No way could I take them seriously. And no way will I read the rest of this series.
I was so happy to see this series in one place. I had to read it after I caught a glimpse of it. I was definitely not disappointed. The first book gave me so many questions. I love the main female character. She is a badass in her own way. I will say some of the guys made me so mad. Though when things start making sense that anger went away. I love when a book falls into place so smoothly. This series is a new favorite of mine. The ending of book 2 was really good as well. But book 3 was the perfect way to end this. I do want to read more from this world that was created. I will for sure be looking for more of this authors books.
Chosen one. Fated mates. Werewolf/shifter and witches. Found family.
I liked the story and the FMC enough. I just wish she were able to take charge more on her clusterfck of a situation than almost dying because she couldn't do anything.
For me, Kai was not very reliable as a partner. There were times I was irritated with him.
The ending was sad for me and it was completely unexpected that Silas would grow on me because he was portrayed as an asshole in the beginning.
I totally recommend this book to people looking for werewolves/shifter stories.
Really liked the first book, the mfc was so badass and loved the plot. Book 2 was nothing but planning and details, no action. I lost a lot of interest bc of it. Plus once the mfc mated, she lost her identity and was more concerned with her mate than ways to save the pack like she kept preaching was her main concern in every chapter. Book 3 had more action but every chapter for the first half is the book ended with some “big reveal” that wasn’t really jaw dropping.
Also no spice, maybe a slight mist of steam if you’re into 1 paragraph synopses
8 Wows & a box of tissues. A world you could never dream of.
A world without order or power needs A Cinderella that looses everything in her life to be sent to the lone wolf pack to discover she is not alone. Then she finds her mate and they work together to solve the mystery’s that they can only fix thru violence and problem after problems. ❤️🔥❤️🔥❤️🔥❤️🔥❤️🔥❤️🔥❤️🔥❤️🔥❤️🔥 A must read series. Love, laughter and peace
Although I liked books 1-3, I don’t think I’d reread them in the future. The FMC was naive about practically everything (maybe due to her age, I’m not sure) and the plot twist wasn’t what I really wanted to happen. I also didn’t realize this was a YA romantasy. It’s VERY closed door and I was expecting some spiciness. Regardless of all that, the storyline was easy to follow and intriguing enough to keep reading.
It was a good mixture of supernatural. I loved there was action and mystery. I am not big on to much spice so I am glad it was just enough throughout I could skip it quickly.
I was almost sad but then I realized Si got his own book, so I will wait to read it to leave the opinion.
This is the first three books in the story about Ash and Kai and secrets that were kept from her. She witnesses her father being killed and is told to go to Ridley falls to find her uncle. She learns about wolves and magic and a curse. This book will take you on their journey to break the curse.
⭐️this rating is an average of all 3 books⭐️ Books 1-2 were great and I real enjoyed them. The story was interesting and a generally nice read, however book 3 put the rating down due to how dragged out it felt. I feel like the boom could have just ended and all the problems solved in 2, and 3 was just written for the sake of it.
I found these books interesting and easy to read. Once I began reading I didn’t want to put the book down. I liked how the flawed characters were able to make changes and find acceptable resolutions to all of the issues they faced. I’m looking forward to reading more stories by Heather Hildenbrand.
Lone Wolf Pack: Books 1-3 I absolutely love ❤️ Heather Hillenbrand, she is a spectacular author I have read and listened to all her books and audible books. I enjoy the narrator’s!!! They are amazing . I can listen and read this all day long !! Definitely recommend anything she writes !!
this isn't just a series, it's a universe of characters i want to know more about. i applaud this author, she is well written and spins a beautiful yarn. the intricate plot is well worth exploring.
I absolutely loved all the twists and turns of these books. They had everything I love in them....romance, betrayal, secrets being unlocked, twists and turns. Best books I have read in a while and I will definitely be reading the rest of this series very soon!
Good story and a very eventful ending but I felt it was a bit stretched. When I felt the book was ending there was another thing happening which I felt was overkill. But altogether was good.
Unique storyline involving witches and shifters in a whole new way. I loved these three stories and I'm excited for book four. It was a mastery of modern and ancient magic, the wolves won my heart.
I absolutely loved this series. It keeps you on the edge of your seat. It's all plot with a hint of spice, which is a refreshing change. The characters are so thought out. Amazing!
I absolutely loved tbe characters!! Finished all 3 books in 2 days! The twists, turns and plot is mostly unpredictable and ridiculously torturous!! In an amazing way!
