Heb dit boek jaren terug al gelezen. Nu een tweede keer weer erg goed. Het boek bevat naast een aantal essays en korte verhalen over oud en nieuw Petersburg ook prachtige foto's van de stad.
Ik ben er (ook jaren geleden) geweest en begrijp de fascinatie van de verschillende schrijvers met deze stad. Zeer de moeite waard.

A treasure I found randomly at my local used book store, but a must read, amazing look at the history and Architecture of St Petersburg. Also includes essays from residents about what real life was like in the crumbling to flats behind the gleaming facades.
