After her parents die suddenly, young Mary Lennox would rather be alone than in the company of others. She has no friends. But Mary's lonely life changes when she moves from India to England to live with her uncle. There she discovers an astonishing and mysterious secret garden. Follow Mary's story as she finds her own place in the world. This easy to read adaptation of the classic novel is guaranteed to hook beginning readers not yet ready to tackle the original.
A cozy short story involving growth and friendship. It may not be everyone's cup of tea, but I read through it during a rainstorm and I enjoyed it a lot. It's a nice book to read through if you want something less serious and brief between tasks or if you want to distract yourself from a much longer book that requires more brain power.
It is quite literally a children's book though, so if you feel reading one as an adult then don't bother (personally I have no issue with it). You can find something else perhaps.
Would vote it 5/5 if some of the adults didn't come off as unnecessarily mean.
