Adventure in the monster-filled caverns and dungeons beneath Fort Doom.
I usually enjoy the old adventures that pit the players against the evil Iron Ring. This one is basically a dungeon crawl with infiltration of a keep along with a couple plot based encounters.
I really wanted to like this adventure. At last, a published module that takes us to Luln, then beyond into the Black Eagle Barony and an infiltration of Fort Doom itself! Alas, it is horribly scripted and you don't see any of Luln or Fort Doom beyond the rooms/caves the party is expected to play through. It is so scripted that you can really only consider using the module in a tournament capacity. Even so, the one area which could have been interesting - the caverns under the dungeons of Fort Doom, are amazingly dull. There are virtually no traps or otherwise unusual areas to deal with, just a relentless series of fights, with just a little bit of deception the party can pull off towards the end. The other big flaw is that because it is geared towards 1st level pcs, all the enemies who should be much higher level are low level like the pcs. On the bright side, the interior artwork is very good.
