Nathaniel Branden was a Canadian–American psychotherapist and writer known for his work in the psychology of self-esteem. A former associate and romantic partner of Ayn Rand, Branden also played a prominent role in the 1960s in promoting Rand's philosophy, Objectivism. Rand and Branden split acrimoniously in 1968, after which Branden focused on developing his own psychological theories and modes of therapy.
"It's inevitable in the course of any career that sometimes you make mistakes and fail. What decisive for your future is not defeat but the state of mind which you greet it."
The book discusses the role of self-esteem in workplace success and organization growth. It traces the concept from past generations up to the modern time. It explains how self-esteem contributes to an optimistic mindset and positive work environment. How it fosters innovation and productivity in life. Self-esteem basically impacts every aspect of life, from work to your interpersonal relationships and to your entire being. It makes you understand how other factors affect your self-esteem such as your childhood experiences. It also tells you that the higher self-esteem you have, the more resilient you are and shows more potential to bring to the table. I really love this book 🥺❤ it influenced my mind to shift and be more optimal.

Good extension of Branden's work into the world of work. Quick read. Impressed by Branden's foresight about how the work world was going to change considering this was written in 1998.
