T.M. Nielsen doesn't necessarily consider herself an author. She's an every-day woman who had a story to tell. Never intending to let anyone else read it, she decided to put it all down on paper. What she ended up with is a fascinating tale filling 7 books full of drama, adventure, action, romance, and excitement.

When asked why she decided to publish, she stated, "I want for others to be able to forget about problems in life and to lose themselves in my world... the world of the heku. While I write, I laugh, cry, grin, gasp, and my heart races. I want others to experience that too."

T.M. Nielsen is a computer tech by trade and lives with her husband and two beautiful daughters.

I like this series, though at times Emily drives me up a wall. She is a spoiled brat and that's putting it mildly. She never learns from her mistakes, is in trouble left and right because of sheer utter stupidity ugh. At times it feels shes coming around and starting to mature, then the next thing shes back to acting like a spoiled Irish brat. *sigh* The Author references because she has Irish heritage she has an outstanding temper (I call it a temper tantrum's period) because in essence that's exactly the way she acts allot. She starts fights just to start fights it's so annoying. Though the characters all around are great. The Heku are a version of vampire with a different twist of society.

Okay so let me say I am really liking this series!!! However Emily is working my last nerve.I dont know how Chev has not just quit. It like she does stuff to see if he will hurt her and then is shocked or surprised when he does. I am loving Damon and her brother/sister drama !! He knows he likes but is too stubborn to admit it. I really wish she would just stop see that she can not be with everyone freely ...I mean the Valle Tortured her and beat her and her father he tried to bond her to Vaughn we she should ash again.!!!! It is an emotion roll coaster and I often find myself siding with Chev....

Never a dull moment. Events after events got me stuck even though the main character started to annoy me. But without it, the book wouldn't be as interesting.

I'd give an extra half a star if I could but can't quite go to 5 stars as the main character Emily is so dammed annoying! She may want to prove that she is not weak but seems to forget she is a mortal and as such can die and never be revived unlike most of those around her. She constantly puts herself into danger and refuses to accept any form of help. No matter how bad things get she continues to act worse than the worst spoilt brat/teenager you can imagine.

The Heku have the patience of saints cos I would have thrown her out a long time ago!

Besides that pretty major irritation this is a really great book, the best so far.

Riveting

Book 3 in The Heku Series continues the story of Emily. The story is so invigorating that you'll be turning the pages so fast that you didn't realize you were at the end. Moving on to Book 4

this book, along with Equites, has begun to grate on my nerves.
Emily redundantly does stupid things, gets hurt, gets mad, runs away, and gets hurt again and again.
that, along with her disturbing abusive codependent relationship with chevalier are annoying. i find myself getting mad at the characters and how the keep falling into the same destructive behaviors and situations over and over. it is getting old. i found myself hitting the escape /close button forcefully a few times, as though i was slamming the book shut and tossing it aside.

i do however suggest reading these (book 3 and 4) because book 5 and 6 are MUCH better. So stick with it. it seems the author took some feedback and developed her characters into more likable, yet still broken, creatures.

There were a few things I didn't like about this book, one of them being Emily's "prophetic" dreams. While I think it could be kind of clever to use dreams as a means of foreshadowing, her dreams at the very beginning end up leading to things at the very end. It seems kind of strange that a "mere mortal" could experience things like this. I also have a hard time understanding why the heku hate Emily at first but she can so easily charm them to her side.

I would rename this book "much ado about nothing" it was good but a whole lot things happened but they all fizzled out to be nothing. Emily seems to get attacked by everything... The girl has so many hits to the head she should be brain damaged. Not to mention she is still an immature brat. I think I would
Like this series a lot better if Emily was a little bit more mature.

I think it would be wise to say at this point that the first 3 books in the series are free for download (atleast it was when I found them, I don't know if they still are). There isn't really something new I can say without giving spoilers except that with each "new" book in the series she manages to make it even better than the previous.

So here's the scoop! Emily is still a reckless moron, but Nielsen has hit her stride! This book was awesome. There was so much action. Just when I thought this series was going to be predictable Nielsen shook it up!!!

This book is ok but Emily is too stupid for words. She intentionally puts herself in danger then gets mad when she's chastised. I'm buying this series one by one in case I can't handle more of her idiocy.

This whole series was fantastic. It was quick, thoughtfully entertaining and interspersed with small snippets of humor.
