This is an enjoyable journey across our states and fun for those of us interested in nature watching. I liked that this book is divided into 3 sections, Western, Central and Eastern States, with a colored map to guide me along the viewing trail. It would have been helpful to include the state and page number to featured animals in the index but that's a small complaint.

This guide provides beautiful colored illustrations, a nice synopsis of the animals you might expect to see in any given area, the best times to visit, general information for a visitor and prices and at the time of publication.

If you're not familiar with an area and what wildlife may be available for viewing, this is the guide for you.
