I bought this Kindle edition e-book at a steal of only $0.99...and it was well worth the money. This story about four childhood friends matriculating through life and exploring different careers and the avenues of love was a good read. I was impressed with the set up of the stories during part one...but then I kept reading. Things became pretty outrageous, but the strong development of the characters made me want to know their outcomes.

I thought this was going to be another cookie-cutter beach read (it did have its moments), but you would be selling yourself short if you think this is a predictable book.

I definitely recommend this read. However, I don't believe I will be following up with the sequel.

Picked this read based on the synop, expecting an exciting ride. What I got was a lot of the same old, same old. Black women behaving badly, making rash decisions with disatrous consequences and no regard for correction. I liked the supporting characters far better than the so called "main" characters. The book did hold my attention and I believe Ms. Gant is very talented. This was just one particular story I didn't care for, having an absolute distaste for silly women. I would however recommend the book if you're looking for an entertaining non-cerebral challenging read.

This book was just soooooo all over the place it was outrageous. There were so many stories going on that I sometimes didn't even know what character was telling their story at certain times. I also think the author didn't have to go back so far in these characters lives, it just seemed like wasted pages to me. And I still really don't understand what went down with Kevin and Pilar, the way that saga ended was just really bizarre. I'll have to pass on part two, I think it would just lead to more confusion.

I really wanted to like this book, especially after reading the first chapter. But it went airy after that. Ms. Gant has a great storyline however for me it needed better editing. The back and forth between the main characters stories did not always correlate to the others so I felt like I went 3 years ahead and then one year back. With better editing I really would have like this book.

Just Good Not Great

This story is not your typical romance. It's full of drama & suspense. What made it only good was there are a few holes in the story to make you still have questions after reading it. Also there is some unnecessary writing in the story. This is part one so I'm hoping reading part two will go back and fill in the gaps and not just be a continuation.

The story was amazing and well written. I loved the way the main characters were introduced in the beginning and how their stories connected. Is there a sequel.
