It took me most of the book to warm up to heroine Michael--the back of the book describes her as "sexy, smart and a little bit wild," but to me she was just a bit obnoxious. And I must admit that I really, really dislike the romance novel convention of giving heroines traditionally masculine names--it doesn't make me think they're strong and independent, which I assume is the idea--it just makes me confused and makes it take longer to be able to sink into the book.
On the plus side were the hijinks with Michael and her sisters, which were truly entertaining, in a screwball comedy way, and Byrd handled it really well when the pranks turned serious. The romance, too, was fairly believable, though a little too based on "OMG, he/she is so hot" for my taste.
