Do you have what it takes to become the World's Greatest Pokémon Trainer?
• Complete breakdown of Pokémon Island, including all cities, towns, streets and dungeons • Locations, statistics, and skills of all 150 Pokémon • Information on all Learned Skills, Technical Machines, and Hidden Machines • Whereabouts of all items • Tips for beating all eight Pokémon trainers • Maps of every location
Essential (or not) for any 90s kid that was into Pokemon at the time. Lot of useful information here to help would-be-trainers like my child self find every item/Pokemon in the first two games and plan out strategies for each battle.
A bit of a nostalgia kick rather than a serious read. I enjoyed revisiting this strategy guide that I read as a child, despite not owning or playing the original games during my childhood (something which has now thankfully been rectified!)
It seems like the design of this book became the standard of guides. It expands on backstory and controls without just rehashing the contents of the game manual. Lore is appreciated and easter eggs sprinkled in without containing significant spoilers throughout the walkthrough.
The art throughout the book sews up the package nicely with maps clear and easy to understand. Every page is carefully laid out even if not relevant it is made relevant.
A few small mistakes in this book, including wrong pictures and wrong names of places but other than that a fantastic guide to get you through the whole game. Prima guides are the best guides I've came across.
