Bliss was a cute story with a serious funny bone at its core. The heroine was snarky, but in an endearing way. Sort of like a combination of Kristin Billerbeck and Jenny B. Jones. I loved the humor in this story and laughed out loud so many times I lost count. Indie was a great character and very real.

Her mother reminded me of a few of my friends' mothers when I was in high school. She had that whole flower child thing going and since my friends had flaky moms none of them knew much about church or faith either. I found Indie's search for Bliss endearing and her spiritual journey well done. I loved how she saw a difference in her new friends and how she decided that she needed to find her own way to truth and no longer follow her mother's training. That was great. I also loved the whole relationship with Nick. He was a great guy and Indie was lucky to have such an attentive male friend.

I would love to see a second book in this series. The heat was just starting to pick up with Indie and Nick. I want more! I want to see her roommate make a few changes in her perspective and to crave the same faith that Indie found. The characters seemed like real people to me, and the humor in the story was quite addicting. Great read!

Bliss was unexpected and refreshing - a fun read without being preachy. To me it felt very natural and realistic. Because Indie Moore is such a quirky free spirit, she kept me interested in her quest for 'bliss' from start to finish, from hunting for it with the questionable guidance of her beloved horoscopes, to her realization that while she was seeking her bliss, God was seeking her heart.

I like Indie and her friends and family so much that I'm hoping for a sequel.

How does somebody search for their bliss? Indie Moore finds daily guidance in her horoscope, just as her flower child mother, Harmony (once mundanely named Ann), taught her. At 21, Indie needs to find her own path. In her words: “I’m desperate to get out of Rabbit Hole, Kansas, with its tornadoes, dusty roads, and, of course, my free spirit mother flitting from store to store–all three of them.”

Why Florida? Well, Indie is a Pisces–water sign, fish symbol. And her horoscope told her to follow her sign. Where else could it mean? It seems logical to her!

The reader follows Indie’s misadventures as she runs out of gas, freaks out over cows, and eventually arrives in Hobe Sound, Florida, where she finds out that bliss is expensive. Soon she finds herself sharing a trailer with her new friend and part-time boss, Ellie, while searching for another job or two. Indie also meets the cutest guy in town and spends a fair bit of time trying to avoid him lest she trip over him (again) or snag him (again) (and not the kind of snag you’re thinking!).

Indie finds herself meeting–and actually liking–some Christians. How is their dependence on daily Bible reading for guidance any different than her horoscopes? When her mother shows up in Hobe Sound, Indie has a few things to figure out before she can truly find her bliss.

This book was recommended to me by my friend, Fay Lamb. It is thoroughly entertaining, while encompassing an important message and without being preachy. I fell in love with Indie immediately. It takes a lot to get me to laugh out loud while I'm reading, but believe it, I chuckled and cackled and chortled all the way through this one. It is one of my favorite books ever. Tracy and Janness, you've come up with a real gem!

Bliss is a fantastic ride full of laugh out loud fun. Indie is such a great character, searching for life and finding it in an unexpected way. A cast of equally interesting characters makes for a great read. I hated to put it down wondering what would happen next. The dry humor made me laugh aloud at several different parts of the novel.
