'Dinosaur Explorers Vol. 4: Trapped in the Triassic' by Albbie with art by Redcode is a graphic novel about time travellers moving through different eras in search of dinosaurs.
The crew find themselves in the Triassic era and with more dangerous creatures, Dr. Da Vinci has made a nifty vehicle for the kids to move around in. The problems come when the kids argue over who gets to drive and Emily storms off in to danger.
Along the way, the reader learns cool facts about the creatures of the era. The art style is a kind of manga style and the story should keep younger readers engaged.
I received a review copy of this graphic novel from Papercutz and NetGalley. Thank you for allowing me to review this graphic novel.
High intensity comic consists almost primarily of sound effect noises, while still offering some basic information about dinosaurs. Unless students are very interested in dinosaurs they will likely skim some of the longer passages (which do not always seem to be written a young person level).
As other reviewers have noted the characters are one dimensional and seem to have extreme emotional lability.
Adults will likely not love this one. High energy readers will. On the to-buy list because of high interest quality.
